    Greetings from the Wolf's Lair.:D

I have Mr LW working from home today, so I fear not a lot is going to get done; however, I've constructed the Shepherd Spy for today's and tomorrow's dins (he's on Late shift tomorrow).

I'm running very low on both sun-dried tomatoes and Parmesan, so want to find a decent Italian deli to restock (I don't like Parmesan from the supermarket, it never tastes very strong). Mr LW says he's found a place in Bedford, so as we're currently dogless, we may have a wee trip out there on Saturday, after Mr LW's visit to the Fang Farrier (it's OK, only a check-up).

Weather would have me playing Washing Hokey Cokey, but I refuse to play, so the washing I set to go overnight is on frames all over the flippin' bungalow.:( One lot in the hall, some more in the spare room, and a soggy used tea towel that I want a bit drier before I put it in the wash-bin (or it'll make everything go mouldy) is on the A-frame over the bath.

Good job we don't get unexpected visitors!:rotfl:

Afternoon ladies and gents. Wet but still quite warm , but not heady if you know what I mean

washing in the airing cupboard on airers, a casserole in the slow cooker for tonight, autumn weather , autumn food:T. Havent changed my duvet over from the summer one yet as still get quite warm at night but the boys and dd have, lightweights;);)
;)Sorted through my store cupboard yesterday to double check exactly what I have as over the holidays they have seemed to have forgotten how to put things back in the right place:mad::mad:.
Wasn't as bad as I thought though .Have made up a big box of non perishables for ds1 to take with him to uni out of the cupboard, will save him some money at the beginning. Didnt realise exactly how much stuff I had, does anyone really need 19 bags of long grain rice in the store cupboard.:eek:.
My nephew left to set up his new home and get sorted for his new job next week. He is teacher year 5 in primary school. Gushing aunty, nearly as bad as his mum. Am very proud of him.
We both sent him off with bits and pieces , and a crate of larger to celebrate his new job.

So not much else is happening today so am going to curl up with ds1 kindle i think .
    Have good days all.:)

    Afternoon all,

hope your all well since i visited last. I know its been a while but i have (and still am) feeling a bit sorry for myself and i find it best if i retreat when i feel like this.

Hubby has started in his new job but isnt settled. He started Monday.

Youngest son went to enroll at college yesterday. His first day will be on Tuesday, fingers crossed all goes well for him. He went to the dentist this morning (first time by himself). My baby is no longer a little boy!

Sending you many hugs as always,

Didn't manage to post yesterday. Had to go for an X-ray on my knee and a blood test to see if I am hitting that time of life. I was shocked, am far too young at 45:o anyway we will see. Then had mum and over for tea so the day just flew by.
Today have been to Ww for my weigh in another 2.5 off so that's 18.5 in total since April, slow but sure I am very pleased:D
Also have a new iPad to play with which I love, it makes life so much easier
Curry and rice for tea with wedges yummy

  • Afternoon all. After getting soaked through yesterday on a failed hunt for white vinegar (ridiculous as I know where to find it in MY tescos) I've added it to the online order. Need to find some wide fitting indoor plimsoles for the eldest, as I had to return the clarks ones..too tight. No idea where to start with that one.
Potty training is on the list of todo's now. Enough of washing nappies :D & littlest is ready for it.
This morning was spent using up half tins of custard, cream and blackening bananas with success all round.
Chuffed to have managed to get so far doing the swagbucks challenge already, was somewhat dubious about that.
More stuff to post for Ebay..happy about that too. :D:D
What I love about MSE (and didn't realise this until today) is it turns "doldrum" things (cutting back spending) into an interesting - hope building challenge. So thanks people for opening my eyes to ALL MSE has to offer.
Gosh reading this back I look so busy, when hubby gets home all I do is moan cause I don't get anything done! Again - you guys to thank for that.
Well Done Julie67 on the weight loss.. slow but sure is the way to go. Off to read everyone elses day now while toddler snores on my knee!

    Afternoon all,

Back to school collection of DGS2 today, so will have to organise my days better so that I have some time to meet friends for lunch and get around a bit.

Cottage pie for dinner to-day, all ready but OH has decided to wait until he comes back from dentist to have his...he has lost 2 fillings so not sure how much that will be....must remind him that he needs to take lots of money with him....think it was €75 each last time he had filling.

Catching up with washing now that washing machine is back in use, only doing one lot a day as that is as much as I can take of damp clothes around the house.

OH checked heating to make sure that everything is ok for winter....put it on for 30 mins so house is hot at present....hope that he doesn't expect to have it on every day! Hasn't checked oil, am afraid to order some as not sure how much it will cost for a fill.

Must feed DGS before we head to town....will buy him a drink but not food as well!

    Wave to ELACLA

Plumber working on bathroom and the new loo and basin look really nice and so does shower tray etc. Lost a day on Monday and tray was not delivered on Tuesday so we are three days behind what I hoped. Can't wait to get things finished!

DD has friend coming over later so have spent morning making huge lasagne in tray ready to bake for tea time. Made dd yesterday's chicken pie for lunch and YS lamb chop with jacket spud for DH and me who is delighted with meal that is more traditional then dds like and can't believe his luck.

Kitchen and downstairs cloakroom are now all clean and tidy and dds bedding is in washing machine. I even bleached the sinks. Having sit down and browse on here before shuffling into something resembling action.

DD needs stuff for uni so have agreed to go shopping on Tuesday so she can choose what she really likes. Looks as if she will have a very smalll room so want nice bedding etc so it feels cosy rather than cramped IYKWIM.

    Bitsy

Good luck with DH and jobhunting etc,

    Hug to all
