Another busy weekend. With the weather turning, we decided to decorate the spare/laundry/guest/ironing/storage/3rd bedroom. Pulling out the stuff in there then led on to a decluttering session which spread to my boy's room, which led to moving him out to strip the room of everything to wash the carpet, before putting everything back minus some of the furniture and old toys and stuff he doesn't play with anymore. Now the rest of the house looks like a Blue Peter bring and by sale! Most of the stuff should be gone by the end of the week however.0

It sounds like you're making fantastic progress SD, I envy your ability to simplify. I keep trying to do it, but the fractional percentages, money hacks and too clever for their own good tricks keep dragging me back in0

Had our annual review from the bank confirming what I had worked out recently about our progress. I spoke to them on the phone as we have decided to reduce our facility (the amount we can borrow from ourselves via the off-set) from £100k to £80k. This still leaves us a fall-back buffer (our 'savings') but also reduces our interest rate by 0.1%. It's not much, but it's something and it also stops any temptation to use the facility! It also reduces our mortgage in effect, so more of the house is 'ours'.0

Just adjusted the sig again. Spoke to the bank and all done. Because the change is effective today, the repayment 'plan' re-sets from today, with the figure of our off-set facility. This puts us £12,200 ahead of plan - woooohhooooo!! Daft I know as no richer than yesterday, but psychologically much better!0

If it makes you feel better, then it's no dafter than anything else on MFW. Have a great weekend :beer:0

It's nice to know and in reality the mortgage is reduced, i.e. the amount secured against our home is now substantially less, which has to be better. Just got to keep chipping away at the remaining balance and the immediate short term goal is to get the balance sub £70k before year end.0
