Yes I got my Dell from the Outlet too, it cost less than £300 for a very good spec and I am really pleased with it.

The only downside is they pre-install lots of software that you don't want but I uninstalled it all without any problems.

why don't you pick a model you want, and ring them up and ask for the price without a monitor.

The US site has more models without a monitor

Well yes I could call them but then I would have sacrifice 4.5% quidco, kinda goes against everything I believe in! and I'd have to pay for the phone call!
  • I just wanted to add my recommendation of the Dell Outlet. I managed to the get the following machine for £618 including delivery and VAT. Bought it at 3 a.m. midweek, when the best bargains often surface. Good luck all. Looks like it has never been used, opened, etc.

    Dimension 9200 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
    2048 MB 667Mhz RAM
    2 x 500GB (7200rpm) SATA configured by RAID
    256 MB Geforce 7900GS
    DVDRW & additional DVDROM
    Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme
    Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers
    Vista Home Premium & Works

I can't spec the components within £150 of the price.
  • I bought my PC from the outlet about 2 months ago - I specifically didn't want to pay for having Vista (why? XP is fine for my needs). It was £280 quid (includes delivery price) and It's rather nice

    Dell Dimensions C521
    1 GB of ram
    160 gb hard disk
    256MB ATI® Radeon® X1300 Pro
    16X DVD+/-RW
    AMD® Athlon™ 64 X2 4200+
    Integrated Card reader

    I already had a 19" TFT

The build quality isn't fantastic, but its ok. The DVD drive and card reader don't seem to be attached to the case that securely as it makes a racket when it reads a CD. I've opened it up to see if i can secure it, but it's so compact that i'd need to take it apart completely to do a proper job.

It's a great bit of kit, handles anything I throw at it. Plays Battlefield 2 like a dream, does graphics editing in Paintshop Pro X (I expect it would also run photoshop). Not a single blue screen of death yet or crash. I've bought Office 2007 and it also runs fine.

Go for it, you know it makes sense

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I had a refurb from dell. you could tell it was a refurb cos it had a sticker on the back saying 'refurb'...

... wait a sec, let me clarify. without the sticker, you couldn't have told that it was a refurb. it was really good (for a windows pc!) and lasted for ages - until i could afford a mac! - and is still trooping along, 8 years later, at my inlaws! oh and it was MUCH cheaper than the equivalent 'new' version.

  • I have bought lots of Dells before (as part of my last job). You could not tell my 'new' outlet Dell apart from a new 'new' Dell
