  • OP, if this lady has offered to pay you need to be getting 2 decent quotes for her to be judging the cost and if she can afford it.

first thing to correct the expert

    It wasn't a video !!

second thing , did you actually look at all the pictures ?? NO I don't think so , because pictures 7 , 8 , 9, 10 don't show any little scratches at all !

and if you care to read many more topics on that site you'll see the same sort of damage can be rectified no matter if it's metallic or solid colours with a correct procedure

NO need to respray half a car sometimes for a few small scratches

How we all wish the OP would post some photos af the actual scratches

but until then I stand by my recommendations !

i read the link last night and if you follow it you will understand that its a very rare time that you could cut the lacquer so far back without going to basecoat
if i was really honest i would say i dont believe the link

not knocking that guy one bit the result there is good, but i did notice even though vandal damage, none of the laquer was broken, and VW paints are good quality, the tops coats on those are pretty thick due to heavy first wetcoating.

toyota and nissan are rather the other scale of that quality though, and mazda with their three wetcoat paint stage system is just short of poor to say the least.

toyota top coats are thin, and TBH, i wouldnt touch it with a 1500 grit paper, 2500 maybe and some elbow grease but that would be it.
  • It's people damaging doors that are responsible for the absolute idiots that park across 2 spaces. So inconsiderate, it's not a game to see how close I can park to them.

Yes it's bad but they'll never learn otherwise. Always amusing watching someone trying to squeeze into their car without hitting the edge of their door :p
