Bank Of Cyprus Ilegal Searches

I have had an alert in the last few days from Equifax, to state that Identity Check to comply with Anti Money Laundering Regulations was carried out on the 21/08/2012.

It would of been alright, however I terminated my agreement last yeat with Bank Of Cyprus UK. So they have zero legal right to search my credit file, so I called them and they have said they have re-searched everyone both past and present.

I have advised I will be going to the fos, as Im out of pocket for a credit report. The attitude was not the best, so check your files if you have had this company before or present.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

How are you out of Pocket?

It wont show as a credit search. You can't just go to fos.

Why do people always come out with such statements
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

No it wont affect, but its the point that once an agreement is ended any rights within the agreement are no longer valid.

Once a deadlock letter is issued, it can goto the fos, all I want is the £6.95 refunding and a written explanation so this makes me out of pocket, along with a long call to their 0845 number.

Okay so its fine for people to not pay debt they owe , but not right that they should put me back in the position I was before because of their errors?

The £6.95 was for a credit report.

The credit report that you can get for £2?

Perhaps a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office for unauthorised access (in however limited a way) to your personal data is also in order though I don't think that will win any compensation on its own.

    .

Given the recent issue with money laundering. Just because you no longer bank with them. Does not mean that they cannot do further checks.
Perhaps something has triggered with the way your account was handled....

Nope they have done it to all their previous customers, I do wonder why people think about compo all I want is a refund of what I had to pay out. I didn't take the £2 one as I already have alerts
