This thread is a revelation........
I really need to slash my housekeeping budget so I will be reading and learning everyday. - I am too embarassed to say how much I have been spending of late. Suffice it to say it's far far far too much.
Lots of really fab recipes. I shall work through the thread with my notebook and jot some down.
Thank you all so much.0 -

Just made a nectarine tart for dessert, looks lush.
Use any peach recipe and replace with nectarines.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

total 9p or 69p put in fridge and cut into thirds and eat with a nice salad for 3 lunches...cery nice so nice infact i plan to make it again

Hi,
I often make a Spanish omelette with the tinned cheap potatoes from Aldi (15p) halved and fried with some diced onion and then add your eggs, really delicious0 -
Well I got a thumbs up for the nectarine tart and it was easier than using peaches. I just lined a dish with sc pastry and baked it blind, followed by a good layer of custard with the sliced nectarines on top, sprinkled some demerara sugar over and grilled until the sugar caramalised, like in a creme brulee.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hi all!
Been gone a while!
Anyway, finding money tight again and my kids have got SUPER FUSSY! I have no idea what to do, they literally just won't eat if they don't like something and the only meal they really like is cereal at breakfast.
Id love to stick to £20-30 a week but it's just not possible when all they want to eat is roast chicken and expensive things.
Any help appreciated.
Oh and my kids are 20months and 4 1/2I'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

Sorry don't know about WW meals but a few ideas.
Cauliflower - I'd make a cauliflower cheese with a nice cheese & breadcrumb topping.
Carrots, parsnips, onions & peppers - make something like a sausage tray bake; just chop up sausages into 3 or 4 pieces; chop the veg and then roast everything together.
Beetroot I can't really help with as I only like it pickled so depending on how many you have you might want to try pickling them.
Alternatively it's probably worth just googling for some recipes.
