    Their proxy server means your IP is not known, except

    ... when accessing secure sites it switches off automatically

    That's the thing that really shows up the speed difference

    hmmm.... Do you mean the surfing is anonymous? Is that a good thing or a bad thing...? :confused:

    onspeed is absolute poo. use propel accelerator (propel.com ?) which is by far the superior product.
  • I spent about 20min on the site http://www.propel.com/...and I'm still none the wiser as to how much it costs to use it!

    ....Why do companies go out of their way to bury deep inside their websites the true price of their product/service?? :mad:

    I think there was a $500 a month tariff somewhere; looks like a wholesale deal for ISP's

    The background product behind Onspeed has been sold to about 30 American ISPs (info - a year ago) and some here (BT for one)

    Propel seems to be available from US ISPs for $2.95 a month. Available from the well-known download sites (download, majorgeeks, etc)

    Propel was launched in 2002; Onspeed Nov 2003
