My grandmother died at 84 and smoked all her life, my everlasting memory of her is sitting in her chair by the side of the fire, legs open so you could see the bottom of her pink bloomers (and they were) fag in the corner of her mouth, dewdrop on the end of her nose, grating horseradish to make horseradish sauce, I have no idea if the fag ash and dew drop made it taste better, I would not eat it!!0

Afternoon
Found few mins to catch up, been busy with trying to make house better, DD getting ready for uni and DS getting ready for college. Its all come and once and costs a fortune. Thank goodness for all the tips on here. Back to work next week and the OS will start again with a vengeance. WIll need to as reading above posts, looks like the £200 pm we are saving by downsizing is now going to be taken up by rising food and utility bills. Was hoping to save a bit and the rest was for DD at uni. Big rethink coming now. It has been on news too over past few days so not really a shock, just like others on here feel for people who already struggling.
like the 5 a day ideas, I think any sweets made with fruit juice should count, same for fizzy fruit drinks>#.
OS today the washing is out drying on the line, DW been on, tea tonight is chilli, will make double and freeze extra for next week. Have also started menu planning again.

Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Evening all
Very busy first day back at work! Recruiting new kids in the morning, and then I had to go to a meeting re the student social worker I failed the other month. She was appealing the fail, so it had to go to panel. There were 12 people there. She counteracted pretty much all our concerns with made up statements, thank god I was there when she was failed as she claimed the assessor shouted and was rude, when this assessor is one of the calmest lovliest people I have ever met, and was very compassionate towards her. The student is clearly delusional! Thankfully she has failed her academic work too so will not be allowed to progress to her final year. I think she needs to re-assess her career choice.
Anyways, came home from work and went for a jog. Started week 2 of Couch to 5K :j. Shattered now :rotfl:.
OS wise - rubbish put out, dishes washed, packed lunch made, veggie hot dogs for tea
Have a good evening all

Evening everyone, late one from me, just before I slink off to bed. Usual stuff today, work from 8 to 5.30, race home, quick tidy up of the studio for OH client at 7pm, amazing what you can do in a short time. Most of the tidy up consisted of washing on airers that I cannot dry outdoors because of the weather, which were quickly pulled into the kitchen out of the way, but hey ho, now I have one very tidy space if we have other callers....Dinner was gorgeous, tasty roast port, gorgeous gravy with roast potatoes, stuffing, brocolli and carrot, with enough leftovers for tomorrows dinner so easy one. Went down very well with sneaky glass of wine, something I would not normally do on a week night. Lunches made for tomorrow, surfing the net for a bit before bed. So glad we are nearly halfway through the week at this stage. Sorry, no memory of earlier posts, but I hope everyone is well, or at least coping with whatever this life if throwing at them at the moment. Night all.Cait, at long last signing on:rotfl:0
