Tuesday 28 August 2012
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for28th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Halight & all who cross/follow
Hubby will be dropped at work with his packup soon, then it's off to Mr T for some petrol, once home & shall do my roots as I look like a badger in reverse, make some phone calls, do some paperwork & clean the bathrooms. I need to count the money in the penny jar to get the petrol as we've had a long month & spent money on our day trips this week, plus hubby is owed expenses from work.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Halight, Hester and all to follow.
Sunny start here today, not sure what the forcast is for the rest of the day.
Am in the office at the moment getting some essential stuff done. Today we are off to the O2 for the kids to walk over it  I was going to do it as they need someone over 18 with them but put my back out yesterday, its still very painful today and I am walking like a 100 year old lady.
So no real MS plans today.
Have a good day all.x0 -
Good morning halight, hester and to all who cross/follow,
Bright here but there are some very dark clouds in the distance that are coming this way. It rained very hard last night.
Halight, i hope you get ok at the dentist.
Going to spend a while over the allotment today, thats if it does stay dry. The french beans are pretty much ready to come up.
Before we go over there i need to have a quick hoover round and a general tidy up. Shouldn't take very long.
Tea tonight is cottage pie with roast potatoes and veg. I always make sure i make another one for the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Sunny and bright here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing already out on the line.
Yesterday was another productive day and we managed to dismantle DS2's bed, get rid of bed at the recycling centre, and collect new bed and get it into situ, then both boys spent a good part of the day sorting through the contents of their rooms, still a way to go but getting there. Whilst myself and DS1 took the last load to the recycling centre, DS2 and DH managed to move the furniture around in DS2's room, it looks so much better now. They have both said the beds are so much more comfortable. We didn't stop until 1pm as we wanted to get the job finished and then I cooked a late lunch, we had various meats/fish, salad, new potatoes etc, was all very nice followed by ice creams. DH and I then walked round to friends house and had a drink with them and then they came back to ours for cheese, biscuits and port/red wine etc, very enjoyable end to the bank holiday.
Back to work today for me, but only short week, only have to work my full day today and half day tomorrow then I'm on days off until Monday, not sure what we will be having for dinner tonight but need to think of something - there's various bits in the fridge so we won't starve! Need to have a think about the rest of the week though as no menu plan done, if no planning done always seems to cost more as seem to need various items to make up a meal etc.
This week I will be naming both boys uniforms, I hate that job, but needs must!
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning All
Feel a bit yuk at the moment, woke up at 4.30 and just dozed so need to wake up properly.
Left work at 3 yesterday and didn't get home till 5, a journey that usually takes 25 minutes. There was an accident on the by pass and all the roads were gridlocked. Went so far and then decided to double back and go a different way. Still, at least I got home safely, someone obviously didn't.
Friend came for tea last night, herby chicken with mash and veg, lovely. Washing on airers, it rained all day yesterday, doesn't look very promising today.
Take care. XX0 -

Sneaking back in...............................................
Morning ladies and gents. Hope you dont mind me coming back, havent posted for ages. Life caught up with me and I had a massive body and mind meltdown.:o
Sun is up and shining already looks like it is going to be a lovely day.
Have to catch up on dd washing as she went camping over the weekend with her auntie and uncle. Other than that only one other load to do.
Ds1 is off to uni on the 8th Sept, He is off to Bradford, got excellent a level results, A in Art, A in Media and C in English.
Ds3 got his yr12 Alevel results as well , A* maths, B in Biusness studies and B in English Lang. I was one very proud mum, belated congratulations for all A level and GCSE results.
So have been getting all the bits for uni ready for him. All finished now , he is getting very excited.
All school stuff got for ds4 and dd , have a meeting next monday to see what sort of part time timetable they are giving him this year.
Am a bit concerned that dd school are going to have a fit about her hair colour. She had it dyed nearly 3 weeks , was already red and she went a bit redder but it is quite bright:eek::eek:. She loves it , will just have to wait to see what school say as she is refusing to change the colour.:mad: Her problem if she gets in trouble.;)
My delightful ex decided to not bother telling myself or the csa that he was being transferred from weekly to monthly pay so have missed 6 payments from him:mad::mad:. When he eventually said he said that he wouldnt be getting paid until the 30th August , fine I thought , cant be helped. Until He has had a summer of bike festivals, riding from one end of the country to the other and having a weekend in Paris with yet another new girlfriend. So clearly he has had the money but thought his needs for it was greater than that of his children. Rant over.
Having hair cut this afternoon, will feel like a new woman once thats done. Dont know why but cant beat a wash and blowdry at the h/dressers for relaxing me .
Dinner is jacket pots, salad and left over chicken from yesterday.
Hope all have a great day.
Now to go back and do some catch up reading:oPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0
