    Morning All
It is dry and we have a yellow ball in the sky so washing done and on the line.
Halight I have been warning of giant food price hikes for months, because of the crop failures and have been stocking up accordingly, that might help as a buffer when benefit changes come in next year. I have also decided to get rid of BT and BG and go elsewhere for a better deal.
I am really not looking forward to 2013, it will be a bad year for millions, but sadly not the shysters who got us into this mess, they are sitting pretty with their tax cuts and offshore accounts:mad: I can see riots worse than this year on the horizon :(

Iv been reading a book. Written In 2006 called The Long Emergency,
    Link.... http://www.amazon.com/The-Long-Emergency-Catastrophes-Twenty-First/dp/0871138883

Its all about peak oil, And its very scary.
I'm with you that I think There will be trouble on the streets, In the city's and so fourth. The book dose touch upon food quite a bit as we use oil In farming. In the pest-asides that we use and also In the transport Of food.
As we reach peak oil and pass It oil will become more expensive, That means the cost of everything up go up. There is oil in or use to transport almost everything.
Wars will be fort over oil.

With the costs of almost everything going up and cut back Governments around the world are making. I do think we are in for a turbulent time,

We got rid of BT last year. We are with talk talk now.
We also have just changed from BG to the co-op.

Its always worth looking around for a better deal.

Morning All. Sunny here atm and have just had lovely walk with DH and the dogs. Rising prices are a scary thought, but probably inevitable I think.Worried about many families who are already facing tough times financially. Guess folk on here are already in the mindset of trying to be more frugal and "make do and mend" but for many it'll be a real struggle and they won't know quite where to start.
Have been making a full list of all those niggly tasks that need done shortly and am trying to pick them off one at a time. The list is long, but doable! I'm just about the world's worst procrastinator and then I start panicking in the middle of the night!
DGD returning for three days next week as her school has 3 inset days. I was going to sort through her toys and pack them away - glad I haven't yet!
Oh well, need to get started. Hope you all have a good day. Take care of yourselves.

    Rushes in to gasp....Hi!

DB and SiL staying here for a few days but they have gone out for a shufti round the town - hence my presence here.

Agree about the anxiety over price rises and shortages. Well, if anyone can weather the storm the people here can. Thank goodness for all our OS wheezes and thrifty ways. So sorry for those who don't have a clue, they are going to suffer, unless they're fithy rich and if they are they probably won't be reading this.

We're having a snacky lunch, sandwiches, crisps and HM sausage rolls, and tonight we are indulging in a Chinese. It's a tradition when we get together. Not very OS I'm afraid.

Stay strong everyone, I'll get back when I can.

Tru, you shouldn't always take painkillers on an empty stomach so it is medicinal - and if it had been a blueberry muffin, it would also have been a portion of fruit ;) :rotfl:

Chocolate comes from cocoa beans...........surely that's a vegetable??

My favourite 5 a day list = bar of fruit and nut (2 portions), glass of red wine (grapes = 1 portion), mug of coffee (coffee beans = 1 portion) and a cigarette (tobacco = vegetable= 1 portion)

No sorry Its not a vegetable, But If you have it as a hot drink then it would be classed as a whole meal. :rotfl:

Beer is good for you as alcohol thins your blood. This help keep the stain off your heart In old age.

Tobacco is also good. Not for the person using it but for the country as a whole. Smoking kills many people each year. And there for it helps keep the cost of pensions down. My grand dad smoked all his life and died at the age of 76. My wife's grand dad has never smoked. He is now 91 and still going strong. Do the maths.

Just been thinking. Sorry if my last post upset anyone! It was meant to be a light hart post.
But the smoking comment could be taken the wrong way. My most was not posted to upset anyone or aimed at anyone.

It was meant to be a bit of fun.

Sorry again if anyone found it upsetting :A
