Vision Express Distress!

Good evening everyone,
I wonder if anyone can help me with a sticky situation I currently find myself in- any advice is much appreciated!
I went into Vision Express today for an eye check- I knew I'd be needing glasses, and was desperately looking forward to be able to see all your lovely faces properly! With this in mind, I decided to choose a pair of frames in the shop and get my glasses as quickly as possible.
The sales assistant explained that their standard lenses are £40 each (this is where I began to cringe but, having never needed glasses before, I assumed this was pretty standard), and guided me over to the designer frames. I thought at this point that she'd just leave me to try on the frames and get back to her, but instead she decided to hover over my shoulder for 15 minutes, saying nothing and getting more and more huffy.
Well, I admit I caved to the pressure to hurry up, and rushed into buying a pair that seemed very costly for what they were- £110 to be exact. I was informed that the lenses I needed were in stock and would be cut when the lab technician was in on Wednesday, and would be ready on the same day.
I went home, £210 lighter (incl. eye exam) and feeling every penny. I decided to look up the frames online to show my mum and, lo and behold, I found them online for £130 LESS (frames incl. lenses) than what I'd paid less than an hour ago!
Peed off, to say the least. I was immediately on the phone to them, requesting that they cancel my order and, lo and behold, they refused, and would not price match an online retailer. I'm desperate to have my order cancelled and refunded, but am unsure as to what my rights are here?
To be clear:
-The frames have not been altered in any way, and will not be until Wednesday.
-The lenses were not in stock, and will not be cut until Wednesday.
-They took the full payment in store.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much guys- I feel well and truly conned today. I'm used to seeing things cheaper online, but £130 cheaper? I think it's a disgrace. I even spoke to someone at Specsavers (bit cheeky I know!), and they agreed that I should be given a full refund. I just want to be able to see properly!

unfortunatly you have no leg to stand on here, (sorry) even thou nothing has been done there is no fault with the lenses, the glasses, so theres no reason that they would refund you.
The only thing you could do is ask to speak to the manager explain how you felt pressuried by their staff and see if they would refund, but that is a 1% chance.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I am unable to help here but malchish will be here shortly to advise you0

Its standard for an assistant to stay and help you choose the frames expecially if you hadn't worn glasses before. Did you have someone with you to help as I always take someone to see how they look.
I doubt very much you have a case here although Vision Express are very expensive. :eek:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

When you go for your fitting and they ask you to try them on.
Just tell them you don't like the look of them, If they then say you liked them when you tried them before.
Just tell them that you could not see properly then and that's why you went there in the first place.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -

Hi ... Glasses are very complicated, I work at Vision Express and am surprised with what you say, that's a very big price difference, are you sure its the exact same frame and as good a quality lens? Although I can't see exactly what you spent it sounds like you could have been entitled to a free second pair at Vision Express as a promotion? And most importantly take care because glasses purchased online don't get fitted when they get posted to make sure the vision is corrected properly which is very important.. hope it all works out.0

If you've never worn glasses before i wouldn't advise buying them online.0

What kind of argument is this...
Sorry op, unless the glasses are faulty on receipt of them, you have no rights to cancel or to be refunded.0 -

You need to try and develop a sense of humour clearly it was said tonguein cheek and most people would have seen it as that.
