I cancelled today. They said they will shut off the service at the end of the week (no 30 days notice necessary). I owe them nothing and my account is in credit so they'll owe me a cheque at the end of all this. An engineer will come by to take back their equipment at my new address and I have an email and reference number for all of this.
So no need for 30 days notice. No need to send them anything back as they collect it. And no need to pay any fees if you've completed your contract as you pay one month in advance.
quite the charmer0 -
I think you will find that what I posted was correct.
You are indeed a charmer and very ungracious when people were trying to help you. Its not as if you are a newbie and don't know any betterLife is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Firstly, I had several posters talk down to me to say that I've left it too late and act as if they are more intelligent than me just because I asked a question. Secondly, I had people tell me wrong information so yep I was being just as charming as some people who responded.
I've already asked about the fees thing, they said that because I've been a loyal customer for many years that they are not going to charge me for any extra days even though I didn't give them 30 days notice. They will give me back all of the credit that I'm in. I also have this written in the email that I was sent too.
I'm sick of people acting high and mighty just because of a higher post count on this forum. I answer questions nicely, why can't others? If people treat me like I'm stupid then I will be mean back.0 -

It depends, collections are done by an outside company now so they may do either.
As for how much time,It could take days or weeks for them to collect the box,but keep hold of the reciept for a couple years,I've heard of ex customers getting billed two, three years down the line.0 -

I cancelled a couple of months ago. They made a date to collect the TV box and modem and didn't turn up. I emailed them and it was collected 3 days later. they didn't disappoint me, Virgin's service was rubbish right to the bitter end!0

Wrong...they do,as I said earlier,it's done by an outside company now,the only equipment they don't collect are the old Analogue STB's.All the boxes are returned to be screened & cleaned before re-issued for use on installs & service call..0
