I would go back... show them exactly why you arent happy (this goes for the other lady on here with a similar situation) and then ask what they can suggest to sort it out. And then suggest to them that they do that! I wonder if perhaps a few hair extensions to the very short bit may help? In my opinion they should do this free gratis! At the end of the day, a lot of hairdressers are recommended by word of mouth... and lets be honest, if it looks that bad (sorry) then as far as the hairdressers know, people may well ask u who messed up ur hair and you would name and shame them!! :cool:Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0

Definitely go back, a hairdresser made a huge balls up of my hair about 5 years ago. One side was about 5 inches shorter than the other!! I didn't notice at the time because she pinned it all up.
When I washed my hair at home I was in tears and I'm not big crier. My husband phoned the salon and spoke to the owner who asked me to come in, he took one look and couldn't apologise enough. He said I could come back as often as I wanted for free til it was fixed. If they don't know there is a problem they can't fix it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Well I eventually got back in to see them. Girl who did my hair not there just the salon owner(her mother)
The owner was pleasant and gave a refund and asked what I wanted them to do to rectify. Stick my hair back on would be good lol. hair extensions would have been a good idea but there is literally nothing left in one spot to attach them to
and they don't do them there.
Anyhow, long and short of it (literally) is that I am going back Thursday when said hairdresser is in to see if anything can be done to minimalise the 'bad' areas. Not holding my breath though because there either isn't any hair there and the surrounding hair is too short to do anything! I think the only option honestly is to shorten hair right up to lower hair line on neck and start again which I am really p****d about. It took me over a year to get it to where it was(and it was still short by any stretch of the imagination) and the longest bits right now are no more than 2".
I am still so b****y angry

Did she acknowledge that it was a poor job?
I think it's good that she asked what she could do to rectify things but do you really want the same hairdresser touching your hair again and would you be within your rights to ask for them to cough up for you to go to a different salon to have it fixed?
Have you got an honest opinion on the cut from a friend or family? Do they see it as you do?
It sounds pants though

She actually said that she thought it looked fine but then quickly added that she wasn't a hairdresser though(which is true, think she does beauty side of things) She also did say I thought you wanted it short, which is true, I did, which has led me to trawl through the internet to look for short haircuts and definition of short/cropped etc. Mine has definitely been cropped! I am not sure re hairdresser touching it again, I think she should at least look and see first hand what a carp job she has done but as for cutting...........!! At the end of the day it really can't be fixed which is the real downer and yes adult dd has seen it and a neighbour and they both think it is a bad job, not simply from the point that it is far shorther than I wanted/it had been but because of the poor cutting itself,- bald bits, and the bit that was supposed to be cut diagonally across ear is more or less cut not far off horizontally above the top of ear and then there is about inch of hair missing diagonally behind ear too. It reminds me of how recruits get their hair cut when they join up in the forces!Did she acknowledge that it was a poor job?

Before you go back there, pop into a proper hairdressers and ask their opinion, and also what can be done, and get them to give you a quote for what it will cost. Then present that to them on Thursday. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I'd like some opinions, if no-one minds.
I wrote to the hairdressers in question, sending it recorded delivery, and asking for a resolution. I suggested a refund of the price I paid, or them to restore my hair to it's previous state using hair extensions.
They have sent a very angry letter in response. It was signed for, and states that I got what I asked for, and seemed happy in the salon. It goes on to say that the hairdresser is very distraught and is one of their best stylists, and if he thinks it suits me then it probably does.
It ends with, "I hope this gives you clarity on this matter."
No resolutions are offered, at any point.
It's the tone that has made me angry, more than anything. I did try to remain professional in the salon, although I regret it now - I'd come from work and was going back to work, and didn't want to go back a snivelling wreck. I was also a loyal customer at the salon, and I didn't want to complain during their busy time. I thought they'd quietly resolve it later.
So, is there anything I can do? Or anything worth doing? I feel so insulted now, and that's very difficult to deal with combined with my horrific hair cut.0 -
Can I refer you to post no 27. Do that and in response, say that clarity will be found once a cheque has been cleared. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
