All quiet on the Western front, still not heard from the OR after my Telephone Interview reference an IPA, has been two weeks tomorrow, is it rude to chase them up, maybe they have forgotten me
:)
Have not had any more contact from creditors since telling them I am BR, only one Apex (on behalf of Halirifax) seems to be hard of understanding, although the chap I spoke to there was very nice and asked if BR was straightforward to do! :eek:every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.0 -

Got my IPA letter through yesterday, no surprises is exactly what I calculated from my SOA figures and is roughly the same as I was paying back to my creditors on reduced payments with balances going nowhere south and no "we want more" phone calls and letters... its just waiting another 10 1/2 months to AD and then November 2015 to the end of it all rather than wondering if I would ever pay creditors off (some worked out as 25 years!)
The relief knowing it will end and I am paying one payment that is "negotiable" if circumstances change is very tangible, BR was not a scary process, the people i dealt with were very nice, advised to get the best outcome for me as well as the creditors, the first thing to do is be honest with yourself "I am John Doe and I am financially FUBAR'd" there is no shame in taking control of your life, it is no failure to fall down, failure is not getting back up.
Good luck to those thinking of doing BR

Good for you tiggerbodhi, that's a really encouraging and positive post.
Wishing you all the best, I hope the next 3 years go very smoothly for you.

Sorry its been a while.....
My phone interview with Mrs OR (back in October) lasted for about 5 minutes and she said that the amount I said I could afford to pay back every month was fine. Perhaps I should have claimed my outgoings were higher!!!:rotfl:
Anyway, the reason I have bumped this thread is to ask for some advice about my old bank accounts. Its been almost 4 months since I was made BR and my accounts are still 'working'. In fact one of my banks wrote to me instructing me to sign in online as I haven't done so for a while. It still has the exact same balance of £4.53 that its had since the day before my bankruptcy.
If I used it (paid in/made a withdrawal) would I be committing an offence?
Thanks in advance if anybody can help.:DTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
