You know what to make him for dinner when your bananas start to brown.

I was also astonished about the men being drafted to be the last line of defense should we have been invaded whilst at the same time the wives were passing info to 'the powers that be' and neither knew anything about what the other was up to

There are still plenty of people alive and kicking who were on farms in the war
I didn't live on a farm but I remember being let off school to be able to go potato picking. i.e. bagging up the spuds after they were spun out of the ground.
That was in 19440 -
I blend my bananas when they start to turn, then freeze them in an ice cube lovely. They are lovely added to rice pudding or a cake mix or just some milk with a touch of sugar.Popperwell wrote: »Well it gave me an idea for another simple meal and may avoid me throwing out good food...£36/£240

I make banana crumble. It doesn't look great once the bananas have been cooked, but with custard, cream or icecream you don't notice and it's divine! People think it's weird until they have tried it.0

The bananas on the banana tatin which someone made on Great British Bake Off didn't look particularly appetising either, but apparently it tastes really nice! They go a funny colour when they are cooked don't they?0 -
