  • I thought that it was really good :T and I too remember the kitchen units. My Mum still had a pale blue one in the 60's. We had lino in every room including the bedrooms and a paraffin stove. I remember going to the hardware shop aged 8 to pick up a gallon of paraffin.I would love a paraffin cooker and stove now, it would be cheaper than running an electric cooker and gas central heating.
The patriotism of the population could not be matched today, I can't see how, with so many who regard the government as nasty, vindictive thieves, who are in it to line their own pockets and their bankster friends.

I downloaded the booklet as a pdf file it was really easy and have printed it off.:D
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I had to laugh when the two men went to survey the field to grow wheat when the one man carrying nothing jumped over the gate leaving the other stuck because he was carrying all the equipment :rotfl:

They did a bit just before that where Alex bent down just before Peter turned round and would have whacked him on the head. Very obviously rehearsed as it was very like a Laurel and Hardy sketch. Very funny though :rotfl:

We found one of those kitchen units in a skip when I was a student. Took it into a friends unfurnished kitchen space and gave it a new lease of life. The big think I like about the psyche at the time was creative use of what there was and efficient management of life. With better management of stuff I'm sure I would have huge amounts of free time.

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

I'm glad I watched it but as it was setting up the series in the first programme I think it will be better from next week.

They did try to add some humour didn't they, like when one of the men dipped and the one carrying the equipment swung what he was carrying around and then as he went back to his original position the other man came back up avoiding getting hit bit like the routines clowns often do.:D

I must of been writing this post as Justamum wrote her's so duplicate post here, sorry.

Still learnt a lot about the time though and I am going to try and find the other series' they done probably on You Tube...

There is also a free booklet available from the OU, but I can't get the OU sight to work at the moment.

Still haven't dived into my WT farm book. If I do will it spoil my enjoyment of the series?
