I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

There are still plenty of people alive and kicking who were on farms in the war .... should be some interesting comments from those people who don't like what they see on the telly as it wasn't like that on the farm they were living at.

I had to laugh when the two men went to survey the field to grow wheat when the one man carrying nothing jumped over the gate leaving the other stuck because he was carrying all the equipment :rotfl:

There is also a free booklet available from the OU, but I can't get the OU site to work at the moment.

  • dh sent for the ou freebie, he also enjoyed the programme, which kept sparking memories of early 50s. We had lino and one of those kitchen units, in fact most people had them by then. They were very useful and would still be useful today. That gas rattle, lol they were still about when I was a child and were popular at football matches

That paraffin oven was such a good efficient idea and the cast iron pan. well I use one nowadays
