Elvis
your avatar is really awful on the eyes, the black square is flashing at a rate that looks dangerous to epileptic sufferers, this is only seen by people using Firefox not IE but I'm sure you'll be happy to change it in case there is any danger to epileptic sufferers viewing via firefoxI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. elvis_bloggs wrote:So Glad, this presents a really big problem to everybody on MSE, how are we supposed to know which avatar is going to be acceptable or not if there is a difference in how they are seen by members using different browsers. It seems to me that it would be more suitable if any member who is presented with a probem with images on MSE should accept that the onus is on them to switch the images off if it is not the actual image that has the fault.
Elvis, your avatar is the first one I've ever seen that looks different in Firefox than in IE - and I've been using Firefox for a long time now0 -

elvis_bloggs wrote:I don't have Firefox so I would not know how any of my avatars will look to members who do, my avatar does not look as though it was made to have a black and white flashing background so I assume it is Firefox that is altering it.
sometimes people create webpages/gifs that comply only to IE standards rather than the offical standards.
here it is fixed:

we obviously can't know if there is a problem until someone tells us, but I don't think it means that people using firefox should switch off all images just because one is causing a problem, when it is easier to ask that the user changes it, which you have done, so Thank YouI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. i don't have to live with it Elvis, neither do i wish to take a hike......
however, because sra (and others) had the decency to respond to the initial request of the thread and suggest a constructive, workable solution (which, as there was one, i have been able to implement) rather than post a facetious, abusive, exclusionary torrent of red, rather large and unnecessary letters.
If there hadn't been a workaround i would have merely pressed esc whenever the jumping, clapping, beer glass chinking, shoulder shrugging, hair raising, rolling smilies got too much!
you remind me of my brother, he knows of no other views but his own either, and will attempt to defend them despite, in fact, mostly, IN SPITE of others, occasionally more, lucid points of view.
Tis a greater thing to have your opinion listened to and accepted as an opinion, than to go around with you eyes closed.
For you usually bump into a tree.
It's a good idea, Elvis, to keep your words short, and some might say, sweet.......you never know when you might have to eat them.
consider yourself ignored, in the politest possible way you understand
