This is very worrying! Your friend should consult a doctor immediately as they should really be coming out of her vaginal canal, also tell your friend to sit down with her partner and quietly explain to him the term "Dlckhead" is NOT an instruction.

dr shettles writes about timing sex around ovulation, it's called the shettles method.

i read about it on MSE a few years ago and it took all the mystery out of having babies for me - because i ovulate very early, pretty much the minute my period stops it means i will always have boys. when i got pregnant with roo we had been trying for years and i know when i ovulate so i knew there was no chance of having a girl. i think the scan lady thought i was bonkers though, when i went for the dating scan and they said i was ten days more pregnant than expected (as i knew i would be) i said oh it's a boy then :rotfl:

if your friend can pinpoint when she ovulates she may be able to work around it - having sex a few days before ovulation (and then not having sex for a few days) might mean a girl sperm is hanging around ready for the egg.

if she is absolutely obsessed with getting a girl i saw on prof winston's IVF programme last year that in some countries you can have gender selection. the couple he followed went to cyprus for their treatment i think. it didn't work but IVF is never guaranteed to work.

There is a book called Choose the Sex of Your Baby, the Natural Way - Hazel Chesterman-Phillips i know a couple who know this lady and appeared on gm tv with her about it 9 years ago and after having 3 boys finally got the girl they desperately wanted,i have also tried this method as my nan told me about it years ago and i have got 2 boys and 2 girls( in this order,girl,boy,boy,girl )the only thing i would say is you need to know your monthly cycle really well,with our third child we didnt use the method but we did with 1,2 and 4.Its the same method which has been mentioned (girl before ovulation, boy on or after)

Someone told me that if a man is vegetarian he is more likely to father girls. Don't know how true it is.

Have read this thread with interest I have done alot of research on this over past few months on the web I have 2 boys aged 4yrs and 2wks I did have a daughter but she was stillborn and this was before I had the boys I adore my boys but would love to have a daughter.
There is the shettles method and I suspect you will need to plot your bodies natural cycle for several months before trying this. There is also the diet it is alkaline foods required as suggested above and this is to make the vagina more alkaline as male sperms die off quiker in this environment rather than an acid one where they 'flourish' as it were.
Mainly this is it there is the chinease chart thingy but according to this my boys should be girls so dont know how accurate it is.
Failing all else there is sperm sorting which gives you girl sperm for artificial insemination (i think) this can be done abroad dont know how much for apart from in USA costs about $600 I have also read somewhere that there are three clinics in the UK that offer this BUT they are NOT licensed for it and cost is about £4000 I dont know whether this is true or not as I couldn't find anything by searching a clinic that would do it as the HEFA (think thats right) deem these unethical and immoral HTH a little.
Whatever she has I am sure she will have fun trying

My neighbours many years ago had five daughter then their boy God.One day one daughter was arguing with the boy God and the Father told her You should be grateful for him because if he came first none of the rest of you would be here. Im sure everyone posting here loves their children to bits whatever their sex, but I often think of that little girl and what she must have felt hearing that she was only concieved in the hope she was a boy and not because she was wanted in her own right
