I remember reading somewhere that if you eat and avoid certain foods it can create an enviromnemt more favourable to one over the other, but i cant remember what now or where i saw it

Book into a rubbish B&B in Blackpool out of season and listen to a couple of very argumentative and then loving same sex ladies in the room above you to kick your own love life into action!!!

To drown out the noise we decided to "make our own party". The result = A now 9 year old gal who thinks she's 16 and has the attitude of a 16 year old also!

    LOL

Isn't it that if the egg is fertilised later in its viable time of release, it's more likely to be a girl? Or have I got it the wrong way round?
I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.

yes, i have read that as well. i have two girls, not deliberately or anything, just chance, and i read about this after they were born, however, the advice it gave to maximise chances of a girl do co-incide with my own habits quite a lot.

for example, it mentioned eating a lot of alkali (or is it alkaline?) foods, or foods that will create that within the body.
(i seem to remember broccoli, greens, being mentioned)
it also said to avoid acid creating foods like red meat and all those usual suspects, well i am vegi anyway, so that made sense.

it's also to do with timing it around ovulation: so if you were trying to get one gender or the other, you'd have to get one of those predictor kits - for a girl you time it so sp-rm meets egg just after ovulation occurs.

(best check that on google or something to make sure i've got it the right way round!)

Jeez! Is that what went on in our B&B room! I remember the mini kettle was out of action but that! Well, I perhaps should book in again! LOL

I think, girl sperms are supposed to be more likely to survive longer/swim furthur then male sperm so you are slightly more likely to get a girl if you have sex a couple of days before ovulation as male sperms die sooner so more likely to be more girl sperms left to fertilise the egg when its released. Conversley male sperms generally swim faster then girl sperms (I think due to slight size difference) so if you have sex as you ovulate there is more chance of a male sperm getting there first as they are a bit quicker.
Obviously this relies on knowing exactly when you ovulate so plotting bbt for a few months before trying to get pregnant would not be a bad idea.
    No guarantees though!

There are absolutely no guarantees whatever she tries. I've known more than one person to try for a certain sex by doing different things and 99% of the time, didn't work. Hope she just has a healthy child whatever the sex..

There are several books on Amazon that will give you the theory behind the trying to determine the sex of your baby, it is all do to with the release of the egg and when in your cycle you have unprotected sex.

There are also sections on food and lifestyle, it is a good read but not sure how proven the methods are, I had the cook a couple of years ago, it cost about £5.

Can't give you a success rate for as I never got to practise the theory!
