I totally agree this forum should be renamed Competitions Discussion

When you look at the list of possible forums, especially under "Forum Jump", people are seeing "General Discussion" and not realising that it is for competitions. There have already been one or two threads posted that have nothing to do with competitions and have needed BGs to move them elsewhere. Renaming should stop this confusion.

Thanks for renaming the forum - we've had some strange posts by some poor folk with serious problems who will hopefully find a more relevant part of MSE to seek help.

I agree, though it's quite nice to include off topic, we want it to be for comping folk, rather than just people using the whole website. "Competitions Discussion" works for me.

Also would be good to include a spam button :cool:

General Discussion is fine if you add underneath

If you have a question about comping or want to chat about comping this is the place to ask it

However Competition Discussion or Competition General Discussion do the job

I was about to post on the 'live thread' I agree general discussion is too confusing and have sent a message to the team with a suggestion based on the comments there
to rename the board Competitions Discussion Board and include a description of 'If you have a question about comping or want to discuss comping issues this is the place to do it'
I see the board as a replacement for our old Comps Discussion thread where each query has a separate thread instead of a post and answers wont get all jumbled up in one long thread and then the Inn can be for all offtopic chat between comping friends

Im also liking the Compers Chat Corner. If its something like Competitions Discussion that suggests that you have to talk about comps and nothing else. I was under the impression that this chat board is for all those who frequent the compers corner to discuss anything and everything. I may of course be wrong though (wouldnt be the first time :rotfl:)

no offence, just wanted to clarify your post a little.

When we were asking about us having a Compers Chat Corner, over on the Site Feedback thread, we actually mentioned the Inn thread. I see the Inn thread as a place where you could have a generalized "what kinda day your having - you you go, have a cuppa tea thread...

But that comping questions and generalised comping chit chat, would finally be able to go all into seperate threads on here. So the board itself is larger than a replacement for the comps discussions, because it finally offers a home for all the chatter/query/ threads that often got lost in IWIW or moved from the main board.

so that we finally have a board where us addicted compers can chat and help each other to our hearts content without fear of starting a thread in the wrong place or getting told off for bumping, This is what I had posted earlier on the LIVE thread, where we were asked for all our input into what we wanted this board to become,
