Well I've managed to withdraw my winnings to Paypal but they haven't shown up there yet... assuming it might take a day or two? Hmm. I feel like I had a really productive day yesterday, I sorted out my ISA and had to do a lot of money shuffling with it but I now know what's where and feel a lot better about things.
I've worked out that I have £1,040 in 'spare' savings (not inc ISA money) to go towards the months when I won't have bursary payments next year - Sept 2013 and Aug 2014 (hopefully I'll have a job to go to in Sept 2014!) - aiming to save £2000 at least to cover those two months. I'm due a big petrol payment tomorrow of about £400 so that will boost that little piggy bank - and it'll be the moment of truth as to whether or not it's taxed....
My new Nationwide fee-paying account bumph arrived yesterday so need to have a read through it to activate breakdown cover etc. Hoping to just bite the bullet and order a new phone today, but it took me forever to get to work this morning and I have a lot to do so should crack on with that really

- [STRIKE]Check Graze website for (free) box which didn't arrive on Weds[/STRIKE] - The date seems to have been put back to this Wednesday but at least it hasn't gone missing.
- [STRIKE]Set up credit card to pay off in full by DD[/STRIKE] - but don't know what date for payments?? It's OK though as I never spend much on it.
- [STRIKE]Check for lost Tesco points [/STRIKE]- £39!
- [STRIKE]Double Tesco points - poss to buy printer for my course[/STRIKE] - of course, printers are not included in the exchange deal so putting this on hold for now, although I have about £10 of vouchers expiring at the end of August so will have to have a think about things I need.
- [STRIKE]Have a look at phone recycling deals[/STRIKE] - £33.50, although it does have a crack in it so maybe not! Plus £3 Quidco
- [STRIKE]Find betting site password and withdraw winnings from Cheltenham Gold Cup (about £30)[/STRIKE] - £50!
- [STRIKE]Apply for new ISA - late doing this AGAIN this year :wall: although I did manage to max last year's allowance in time :T[/STRIKE]
- When Graze box arrives, alter account to occasional snack box rather than the porridge one
- Research best printers
- Have a look at phone tariffs and cashback deals - annoyingly Quidco do cashback for all iphones except the 5, and on all contracts other than iphones! Grr. Other cashback sites are an option though, this is ongoing.
- Send card and present to cousin (not really financial but needs doing!)
- Send birthday card and present to friend
- Look at applying for student finance
- Look at recipe books on amazon - trade-in deals?

Well done on the half marathon Tete.
I've done a stupid thing and signed up for a 5k next month (nothing compared to you). I'm using a podcast to help me train but my phone bounces around in my pocket. Are these any good?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks Star!
I use one of those pouch things to keep phone, car key, money etc in on races - I find it great and don't really know it's on, but I know people who've tried them and had a sore arm afterwards where it rubbed - if you get one definitely make sure you practise running with it before race day. Mine is purely for storage though and doesn't have the plastic window bit so I can't vouch for that element - are you meant to be able to use the phone touch screen through it?

I'm not sure if you can use the touch screen through the cover. TBH I wouldn't really need to as I could press play then put it in the cover before I set off. That's what I've been doing when I've put it in my pocket. Never thought of putting my key in there as well. I safety pin it to my bra strap!! A tip my mam gave me as a teenager when I used to go out clubbing not wearing very much :eek:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Haha, good tip!
Hello, hello! Had a brilliant weekend away with my running buds and really enjoyed the Half Marathon, despite the ridiculously hot weather (at 8am in Scotland no less!!) - completed it in 2.36.37, knocking 35 minutes off my previous (pretty dismal, mostly walked) half marathon time. This time I walked for about 30 seconds at the final water station so I'm totally counting this as a non-stop Half! :T (Another day Zero item crossed off). We're already planning next year's trip
Got on the scales this morning and am four pounds heavier than this time last week, but a bit of internetty research suggests this is normal and just water weight - muscles will retain water to repair themselves or something, so just trying to drink a lot of water and not worry about it
I have so little energy today it's unreal, just trying to take stock a bit a make to do lists for the week. Friday was a deadline for coursework for people at work so of course my inbox is full of excuses today - I CBA at all but it's good practice for being a teacher I guess!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Well done on your non-stop half marathon time! :T Glad you enjoyed it.
I like the tip of pinning your key to your bra strap Star, just imagining you with all your other handbag essentials (money, lippy, phone) pinned to various items of under-clothing!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

:j Exciting! Yes I know, iphones are not the most MSE item around but I do love mine and get a lot of use out of it, and I don't smoke and have no debt and basically no social life, so
I never used to wear a bra to go clubbing (flat-chested so not as bad is it sounds!) as I was always in those little backless tops tied with strings  and no coat obvs cos it was Newcastle. Eep, I never go anywhere without a cardi nowadays!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tete that's exactly WHY I wore a bra!! To push what little I had up and together so it actually looked like I had some :rotfl:
Birdie it was only the key. Rest I carried in a small handbag. But it meant if I ever lost my bag I would still be able to get in. Although after a few drinks trying to get your key in the door without unpinning it was a challenge shall we say!!!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Don't ruin my funny little image!!Although now I see you removing your bra to open the door! :rotfl:
I'm another one who wore a bra simply to make it look like I had something up front!Love that I can go bra-less (super comfy!), but I'm so flat when I do I don't like how it looks at all!
