We use the vouchers for our big shop or if we in out of something and money is a bit tight. Can be a pain sometimes when they have to call a manager as they've never seen them before but it doesn't bother me.

Ooh good luck with the dating. Shame about the one but if you have 2 more on the go then I'm sure you'll be fine. X

I don't know why, but the 'dating like a mofo' bit made me giggle a lot! :) Hope one of the dates brings up a gem, would be so lovely if you found a truly nice guy. Kind of get what you mean about the ex, even pigs have a few positive traits and it's quite normal to miss things about them from time to time (before reminding yourself that a few positives don't outweigh the negatives!:p)

I've missed out on Nashville Lara, when it first came out in America I struggled to download it then kept missing it on TV (since we're in the stone ages and don't have Sky+) Will get my hands on the whole series somehow and watch it in one big happy lot! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Hey Tete,

Posted a message to wish you luck with the race, tried to edit but deleted it by accident (you probably didn't even notice tho). Anyway, glad you got a good time in your race and the Scottish weather was kind to you.

Not been on for a while as hubby took a diabetic attack and ended up in hospital, friend's mothers funeral to attend etc., so just getting round to posting.

Good luck with your course and of course, the internet dating. I went on 3 bad dates (after years of really bad ones), in the six months before I met hubby - you gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince but I'm sure it will happen.

    Take care

Hi Swinstie - eek not sure I received your message? Anyway, I remember thinking I was glad I hadn't arranged to meet up with anyone (I have a couple of bloggy friends up in Scotland too) because in the end there were huge traffic jams on the A1 on the way up on the Saturday so we ended up arriving, having tea and going to bed, and there was just no time at all on the Sunday, and we were staying slightly outside the city (Newcraighall) so not v convenient. I was hoping to get along to Mandors too but just no time :( Perhaps next year as I think we're going to go for three nights so that other members of our running group and their kids can enter the shorter races on the Saturday :)

Sorry to hear things have been so fraught and hectic for you :( Hope they calm down now and your Hub is OK?

Ah yes, I know you need to just sort of steel yourself for internet dating and just power through the rubbish bits, but it's all such hard work. I can't help wishing I was already in a nice comfortable relationship like everyone else - I feel like I've done more than my fair share of this carp already :o

Got home last night and my GCSE results had arrived :) I was actually quite nervous opening them in case they were different from what I had on my little slip haha, but everything was fine. I've scanned it in this morning and emailed it to the SCITT provider, saying I'll bring it along for them to verify at the induction in July. Also asked about a placement school as I still haven't heard anything about that and I know some people already had at the other meeting I went to in April.

I also received a letter from the student loans people to say that following a request for a new username and password, they had emailed these to me. Yes - this happened over a week ago now and my completed application has been submitted! Madness.

They sent you a letter to tell you they were emailing you? Madness!!

Good luck with the dating. This time next year you will be in a nice comfortable relationship and you'll wonder what you were worrying about! I met my DH just as I swore myself off men (typical). I had come out of a horrible relationship (first love too :() and thought men as a whole could go and do one!!! 12 years later here we are!

Glad you got your GCSE certificate. (And that the results hadn't changed :rotfl:) nearly there now

Baaah Student Finance! The plonkeurs cancelled my application yesterday and have made me jump through hoops to submit a fresh claim using my maiden name as I had a loan during the first ever year of Student Loans waaaaaaay back......and so I had to call up and get fresh log-ons as no one had email addresses or internet access then (but no, dinosaurs were NOT roaming the earth at the same time ;) ) and then reinvent the wheel. Grrr.......

However, it looks as though as I'm a parent, my application will be dealt with swiftly, yeah, right......

I called Uni2 (I should just call them Uni now I guess?!) to find out where my reading list is and the admissions officer promised me she posted it this week so hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll come home to a big fat envelope of doom that will excited and scare me in equal measure with the amount of work I have to get done before the course even starts!

Really looking forward to it :):)

Hope you get a lovely placement school - having walked through the corridors of my school today, and being overwhelmed by the BO (don't teenagers ever wash?!), I'm glad I'm going to be with snot and nits in a primary rather than stinky pits and hormones of the teenagers, lol.

Have you found if your uni has a FB group yet for your course? I'm hoping a few more mature students join mine, as they're all wittering about finishing their degrees and wanting to find shared houses and I want someone to talk to about trying to balance being a parent and a student, sure there'll be tons when I get there.

Gah! Yeah that was the problem with me Kitty, none of it was done online last time I applied and I didn't even have my own personal email address - just my old uni one which I have no access to anymore - I'm sure they'll sort it quick for you, since you have DD and also since you did complete your original application ahead of 31st May :)

I still haven't heard back from the admin lady and I've emailed her twice now asking whether I should be concerned about not having a placement school yet _pale_ But I don't want to hassle her - people do that all the time to me at work over things THEY think are important/urgent but really aren't ... I'm just worried in case my 'conditional offer' suddenly becomes a 'withdrawn offer'!

Ha I know what you mean about the smell - it's bad here at the uni actually, especially in September when everyone's eager and turning up to every class and doesn't know where to go, the corridors get so fuggy. I found the primary classrooms pretty foisty after playtime/PE too mind! What are we letting ourselves in for?! :D

I did a FB search and found a group for the 2012-13 year but nothing for this one so far. It's a closed group too so I couldn't even have a nosy! Might have a look on the TES forums too as I noticed a few groups for the primary SCITT when I was applying for that.

Had my AA renewal letter through, they had kindly upgraded me to Silver Membership, making it sound like a good thing, and the renewal cost was £175!! I mean Bliddy Nora! Luckily they cancelled it without too much rigmarole when I said I was getting it through my bank ... now just need to activate all the extras on my account!
