The bibliospa sounds idyllic.
I agree! I would love to go there! Might try and "accidentally" send the link to the OH and see what he comes up with for Christmas!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Agreed, that looks brilliant Poddle. I remember passing that shop when I was in Bath with the girls a few years ago but we didn't have the time to go in and look around - wish we'd made time now! Let us know what you come away with won't you? (Hope OH takes the hint Ruby!)
Also well done Poddle on the weight-watching despite all the excuses not to. I'm thinking of my current efforts as damage limitation in between New York and Christmas!
Ah the old 'Application Form Zone' Kitty - I remember this from a short period between jobs a few years ago. I still know my national insurance number off by heart. Hope you find something soon.
I'm in the office on my own today - boss at a conference and colleague's small children and wife are supposedly ill AGAIN. I'm getting a bit sick of it tbh, I can't imagine many other workplaces that would give you time off when you're not even ill yourself.
BUT it means I can actually get stuff done! Having my boss in the same office for the last few months has actually lowered my productivity I'm sure - she's always asking for figures and clarifying things that she should know... and she's well aware of how unhappy I am at the moment and is constantly blathering on being 'chatty' - and it's a real pain when you're trying to power through things! So with no distractions I should be able to get a fair bit done, and hopefully have some time this afternoon to do some 'personal admin'...

I should probably fess up to a couple of non-MSE things I've done since my last update too. Firstly, I bought some new running shoes. I did want to get some in America but was uninspired by the choice, and I happened to spot some online that I liked and which are designed for over-pronators like me. It's probably not wise to buy something like that online without trying it on but I decided to take a punt on them, otherwise I'll dither and dither and never get any. Now. They are last season's design so they were only £65 as opposed to £100, and they were from play.com so I cashed in my O2 voucher* and got them for £55, AND I went through Quidco and got £2.50 cashback. So it could be worse, I just hope they fit OK!
Then I came into work this morning to an email saying a lady-I-work-with's sister died overnight. This lady and I have been lending support to one another as her sister and my Dad were diagnosed around the same time so I feel a special bond with her. Also she's been very kindly organising for me to go into her school for some experience (not one of the schools I've been to already but one for further down the line). So I have ordered her a lovely bunch of flowers. Not very MSE at all and I did hesitate and thought about just sending a card but decided not to. Went through Quidco and got 10% off plus 10% cashback and free delivery so again, it could have been worse.
Phew, I think that's everything. Going to get some more work done...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I don't even want to contemplate my To Do List, you seem to be doing so well with yours Tete! And how lovely of you to send flowers, they really do brighten up anyone's day.
I'm also in the office on my own today. Colleague 1 aka line manager 1 is on AL, Colleague 2 aka line manager 2 aka the sexual harassment guy is in and out of meetings all day and my "proper" manager is off sick. So once again I'm holding the fort and I still don't know what I'm doing!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Well you can only do what you can do Ruby and if it all goes pear-shaped at least it's not your head on the block. Can you tell I'm disillusioned with my job and management?!
Just sorting my expenses claim out and realised I can't find the receipt from last week when my boss made me buy a sandwich for a visitor. Only £2 but it's the principle of it - she should have done it, it was her visitor! Going to have a search around at home for it again tonight before I submit my claim. Gah.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Ah just had an email from Quidco to say they've paid me £40
That makes losing that receipt slightly less annoying! Will transfer that over to my savings tonight as I don't have my PIN machine on me.

I've turned the house upside down but I have finally managed to find that £2 sandwich receipt ... in my purse, the first place I looked
Oh well, it's made me happy anyway!

Had an email from Play to say my running shoes have been removed from sale and they're going to refund my card. So annoying! Why can't websites SAY if something's out of stock? They certainly shouldnt let you order an item and take payment for it. Also annoyed as I used my £10 O2 voucher on them and now I've lost that. Grrr. Was really excited about those shoes as wellWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I don't think it's fair you lost your voucher, can they not give you a £10 play voucher? You shouldn't be left out of pocket.
I think I'm missing something here, what do the stars at the end of items on the list mean? I keep looking for a footnote to relate to them.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
I'm waiting for my refund to come through and see how much it's for - hopefully it'll be £65 rather than £55 and then I'll have cash instead of the voucher. We'll see. In hindsight it's probably for the best as I shouldn't really have bought something like that on the internet.
There was a footnote on the original post ... I was just complaining about my weight and pleading for Tesco help really!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
