I may have had a sneaky chinese last night :o Gave me scary dreams though so I was punished for my gluttony! :p Started tracking my food in MFP this morning and I really want to stick to it, need to lose some podge!

Well done for passing your first attempt at the numeracy test, that's really good! You'll be passing with flying colours with a little revision! :T

Don't feel too bad about switching out a couple of moves on the shred, I find the regular crunches hurt my neck and shoulders (I spend so long hunched over my desk that I think they're permanently screwed up now! :o) so I do bicycle crunches instead. I do jogging on the spot instead of some of the jumpy things in stage 2 as well because it hurts my knees. Basically I'm a wreck! :p

I'm leaving work early tonight to go to town and look for silly things for the concert, hoping Claires still sell those bows made out of 'hair'! Going to have a Blue Peter moment with glow sticks and sellotape when we get there too and cover us with them! Might get some face paint too! :D

Hope you manage to share your workload without panicking too much about letting go of the reins... at the end of the day, if they screw up it's not your fault that they can't do their job. :)

  • Morning girls! I'm only a few episodes in to the Killing Beccie, don't love it quite as much as The Bridge yet (LOVE Saga Noren!) but we'll see.

Yeah I can't do Butt Kicks cos they hurt my knees and ankles, I do jump rope instead... Good on you with the bicycle crunches though, they're the best ones!

The QTS have changed this year (just our luck) - you can now only retake twice, and then are excluded for a year (or was it 2? somewhere on the TDA website it says what to do) before you can take it again.

You also have to have applied for a course before you can sit the tests and have to have passed the QTS tests before you can start your PGCE.

    Phew!

Ooops! Then ignore everything I said :o They have made that process a lot tougher! I'll be quiet!
What did you end up doing career-wise in the end (sorry if you've mentioned and I've forgotten)?

I became a university administrator after losing my job last Dec, and the new post I started last week is PA to the Head of Humanities. Not what I really had planned for my life to be honest but I like it well enough and was honestly just glad to find something permanent. Although when I first started dealing with academics it was an eye-opener, some of them honestly wouldn't last 5 minutes in a 'normal' job.

Hope you find some fake hair Birdie :p Don't buy any headgear that's too excessive though or you might find the people behind you get a bit miffed! But yay on the glowsticks, you can never have too many glowsticks!

I've seen both series and thought it was quite good, but a little slow, not heard of The Bridge will check it out.

All other viewing is on a backburner at the moment though due to my current obsession with Breaking Bad, which is the best thing ever :D How sad am I :o

  • Oh yes Tete, this morning I was greeted with "Did you do those reports and upload them?" She appeared to have "forgotten" that she'd asked me to NOT do them so vehemently when confronted with the guy who asked me to do them in the first place...

I couldn't get into Breaking Bad, maybe I need to give it another go. :o How many seasons are out now? Just caught up with the latest season on Dexter and can't wait for the next one to start, it's so freakin' good! :)

Your boss sounds like a delight Ruby! Hope you looked very smug when you showed her that you hadn't screwed up! ;)

Oh well in that case I'll give it another shot and persevere with the first episode! I think I gave up about half way through the first time I tried watching it! :o

I bl00dy love Dexter, it's the kind of thing that's best watched in a big session rather than week-by-week I reckon. Watched the first 4 series back to back (was off work sick at the time! :o) and loved it, then tried watching the 5th as it was aired but lost track of it a bit so left the latest season until it was all out and watched it over a week. Great stuff!

We download everything so we can watch it back-to-back. If something's good I'm too impatient to wait for the next episode!
