Trying to thing positive about the things I have done today - just picking off anything I fancy from the lists at the moment - so reduced the ironing pile a bit, ran through the DW and the WM and took the WM drawer out - although I'm still working out why some of the powder is set like concrete in the drawer. One third of the kitchen windowsill thoroughly cleaned, windowframe and windows ditto. Hopefully dinner is cooking (smells like it), so I need to go and start sorting out the veg - although dinner can't be eaten until Mr B comes home in another 1.5 hours. I'll feed Mr and Mrs Dog now if they wake up for long enough.

Not doing too bad, really. The WM is now clean (drawer, seal, door, front and top as far as I could reach under the worktop) and has done a 90 degree wash, empty. Still need to do the filter. I'm a bit worried because I couldn't pull it out to clean underneath, but that will have to wait now. :(

ETA Have done tea for me (salad I made earlier), DH (stir fry with bought egg fried rice) and DS2 (roast dinner left from yesterday). DS1 has sorted his own now because he wasn't bothered when we had ours. Just a quick clear-up needed.

So what's left now in the kitchen - apart from sorting the walls/decorating:
    cupboard doors
    floor
    oven
    DW
    WM filter
    clean under/behind appliances
    3 frogs (small appliances)
    finish window
    general de-web
    clean light fitting

If I can get all the things in red done tonight I'll be very pleased (and it will be a small miracle). DS1 has asked for a lift to his GF's (almost an hour there and back) and it looks like DH is staying in again. Will see what I can get done.

ooh I have had my ebay box out. some 'never-will-sell-in-a-million-years' stuff ready for charity shop where I know it will sell (they have NO taste round here:p) and some stuff I never got round to listing is listed.
And one item down from loft and listed.
Loft emptying, one item at a time, seems to be working! I would have a pack of black dogs if i brought it all down at once.:p
I went to Dunelm this afternoon and bought blackout curtain linings for DD's room. She wanted a blind but the windows open inwards (stupid windows) so blinds are a no-go. Something I read up the thread reminded me about them so I have been to fit them. They fit *phew!* and the room is dark.

I have a box (vitalite tub) of Harrison Drape (I think) curtain hooks - they don't fit my rails. There is even a new, unopened packet of them. (Which is how I know what they are for). they are probably from the last house. Only been here *cof* 14 years next half term:o

Anybody who feels they could use them...;)

Back in again this week, I really need to get back to my routine before DD goes back to school on the 5th. She's going into her final year so lots of support needed this year. Also I am starting my degree in September so need to get REALLY organised! :D

Thanks for the lists Dustykitten. I really need to be in this week but looks like I'll be playing catch up as I've done nothing today - still trying to get my head round things :( Going to catch up on the thread now as I don't usually have time and I'm avoiding actually doing anything :o ...

bonnie - hope you find it easier to post this week - your posts are missed.
pigpen/froddington/LameWolf/bossymoo - sending sticks for the BDs. But please don't send them this way - think mine is hovering just round the corner.
Rowan - Hope you're ok but please be careful! Sounds like you need some bubble wrap next time you go anywhere :p Not good news with the appliances but at least that's your 3 - fingers crossed nothing else for a looooong time!
dusty - hope you're having a good time in Blackpool. Don't spy too hard - my house is a pit!
goodintentions - sending good luck vibes for your DD1's job applications.
Mumto5 - hope you're feeling better now and if not that a good night's sleep sorts it out.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. Hugs/sticks/etc to anyone in need. Suppose I should think about getting myself to bed soon - need to start getting back into a good routine ready for next week. How did that come round so quickly?!
  • Evening all

Been hard at it in the shop, mopping a tide of watery excrement, what a lovely way to spend the BH - and all as a volunteer  Good thing I love the place

Does anyone have any experience of the Lakeland Heater Airer? It gets good reviews on their website - but I would trust any flyladies experience

I have this one and it is worth every penny. Best used with a large sheet or duvet cover over the whole thing. I love mine :heart2:

Off to write the school permission form out. Need to write a "before school" list so I don't forget anything such as going to the cash machine for money for bus passes ;) Then I'm off to bed. I'm shattered and need to be up about 6-6.30am to be out by 7.35

ETA: Forms filled out. I have a horrible feeling I need to have a proper print out of my accounts for my income for last year to give to the council and I don't think I have one. Its all scrawly handwritten stuff on A3 sheets with running totals on the bottom as I basically gave up trying to keep a spreadsheet going. :o Must try harder this year to get it done properly! I'm hoping my tax credits award letter will suffice for now. :o

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • All clean laundry put away. and most of the rooms are clean and tidy, so no mess for mother in law to moan about when we get back tommorrow (shes coming here for the day to look after the dog as we are out).... well i hope they're is nothing for her to moan about :undecided:think:
