So we've established women like to talk a lot.0

I talk to the checkout operator while packing and have a favourite person we always for as she is very helpful. I certainly don't hang around afterwards for a chat.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

The other way round where I go, the checkout lady won't let you leave and keeps chatting at you, despite the queue snaking round the shop ( it's like this as she chats to everyone!)'' Ok Marge, if anyone asks, you require 24-hour nursing care; Lisa's a clergyman; Maggie is seven people and Bart was wounded in Vietnam ''0

It's not about wanting to or enjoying scanning your own goods - it's about wanting the quickest and easiest way to pay for your goods and leave. Which is often self service.
I disagree. Every time I use self service I have to wait for the checkout assistant to enter a code for some god unknown reason so would have been quicker to queue. I don't like self scan anyway and only use them when I absolutely have to (ie in the middle of the night when I have finished work late and need something from the supermarket) as I think they are a supermarket's way of scrimping on staff and service.Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0 -
This is why I love Waitrose. Swipe my card, grab my scanner, scan my shopping direct into my bags then pop in my pin at the end & off I go.Noli nothis permittere te terere

You mean completely off topic
These would be the women who have paid good money to have a session in the swimming pool and have the nerve to actually swim in the swimming pool! Isn't this the primary purpose of the swimming pool?
How does a pair of women take up over half the pool?
How are they giving you grief? It's not as if they are shouting at the top of their voices, constantly jumping off the side, splashing everyone around them, suddenly changing direction and bumping into people. They are just having a quiet swim.
Dave
You obviously don't go swimming regularly then;)0 -

Oooh you can do that? That's pretty sweet... I'd go to waitrose to have a look, but I can't drive and it's in the middle of nowhere.0 -
Do you know what I hate.....Cashiers that talk to each other, either behind them or over me. While Im waiting for them to scan my shopping! they rabbit on and on while Im standing there looking like a right numpty...feeling ignored and angry! They will then continue to chat while I pack and pay....grrr!0

Apart from the 'random' checks they do. My dad tried this when the York branch opened and got 'random' checked 4/4 times, and the checking is basically them scanning through everything like on a normal checkout, so now he actually finds it faster just going to a checkout! They must think he's a bit dodgy!0
