My local Tesco won't accept any h&b vouchers unless I buy the products pictured on the voucher. I pointed out that they are valid on ANY beauty/toiletry product but the SA said they changed their policy AFTER the vouchers were printed! Why still leave them all over the store then? Would that mean that you can only use the clothing voucher if you buy the top the woman is wearing in the picture?! :p

This is rubbish......from that SA......they seem to make it up as they go along......I would certainly be inclined to either call at CS for verification, and even if they veriified it, would go home and ring the store manager.......its ridiculous...........but very little you could do.

It certainly can't be national policy, although one or two have reported similar incidences.

To change their policy after issue, would mean withdrawal of all vouchers and signs indicating this all over the stores.

Its getting just like RandR policy......just make it up as you go along.

It is a load of rubbish of course but I don't think he made it up. I tried using the vouchers in the same store on three separate occasions and they all said the same thing. Didn't have time to argue with the SA or the CS desk, so I just emptied the entire contents of my shopping bag for a refund. The poor lad scanned all the bogofs twice and took ages to work out why the till is refunding me minus figures! Never mind. I will have to try my luck at another Tescos. Haven't had any free toiletries for months now!

It sounds as though its come either from the CO or store manager then....I would certainly ring anonymously and enquire.........adding your comment about the clothes.......I'll do it for you if you want to PM me the number.

Thanks for that, so can we assume that when weve seen them actually press a button......its to get the total(presumably from the sub-total), as a few of us have definately seen another button being pressed, and coupons that previously beeped......then dont.

Oo my friend started work in Tesco checkouts a while ago (a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng way from me) but Ive never actually thought of asking her about all this..
