1st time today i got refused vouchers.

    I handed over a £2.50 a £2.00 2x £1.25 and another 2x£1.25 and 5 50pointers.

the girls said i can't take all these. So she took the £2.50 the £2.00 and 1x£1.25 so i did get my toiletries for free. And she did take all of the 50 pointers.

And thanks to a member on this board i gained 300 points today with there vouchers which they sent me.
  • Not such a good shop for me. First time using H&B voucvhers I bought 4 x Elvive Shampoos, 2x Adidas deodrant, 2 x Radox Showergel & 2x Lynx Showergel. Young male SA firstly refused ANY coupons, called a supervisor over who carefully read them all & accepted 2 X £2.50 off.

DH wasn't happy with me as it came to around £25-£30 to pay, if I take some items back will they realise the coupons at the bottom are for H&B things?

Supervisor said if product is on offer (I.E BOGOF) then NO coupons will be accepted towards them soon as people are taking the !!!! (her words!)

Hiya Yvonne that has happened to me previously too. The one supervisor actually would only take one x £2.50 voucher as she stated it stated only one per transaction YET was happy to take 5 x 50 pointers despite the fact they are only ONE per transaction too !

:D:D i developed some theories, tell me if i m wrong.

    1. Discreet  : use the possible minimum number of vouchers (just enough to cover the cost) in a single transaction will increase the chance of getting through without being rejected.

    2. Don't be greedy ;) : making profit by excessive use of vouchers in one go will substantially increase the risk of being questioned/ rejected. (hate to see supervisor walking towards me and being interrogated in public. )

    3. Disguise  : the more u pay for the final sum; the more likely u will get through, pay at least about a fiver/tenner or more for each transaction (include some food/milk/daily items) will not draw any unnecessary attention.

    4. i have not figured out how to do the pointers in a disgreet way...

I replied to this on the clothing thread, might as well paste it here as well

Basically I believe there are two types of SA's on the tills, those that accept any amount of coupons and those that have a limit.

Get to know your SA's and you should never fail.........

One guy said to me after already scanning £47 worth of Clothing coupons off my £60 shop...."I'll just check to see if I can accept these last 3" (3 x £6).........I quickly said, "dont bother, i'll just use them next time, can you just scan my toiletry ones please"..he did, there was £22 worth(on a £12 shop).......

but later on, on a £12 test in a small store, she said could only accept half of the final total..but took £4.50 off £6.

I find its possible to see by the attitude, which type of SA you have picked, and I often bring out a few more coupons if the "going looks good"........

I think your first three points are the same, just differently worded......

My cupboards/freezers are so full, that the hardest bit we find, is the "bill padding out" stuff.......dont know how many times we've done the 6 sprouts, 1 carrot, 1 apple 1 pear routine.

but as we used to say.....Each to his/her own..............if you feel this is best for you, then stick with it............

Addendum.....gave my daughter a pre planned set of coupons earlier, shes just phoned to say the till rejected one £1 out of £92 worth of coupons on a £104 shop. The SA was surprised the till would accept so much.....She noted this guy's details, and shift pattern for next week..........lol .....and I didnt even use any of my precious "blues"
