What happens if you self scan? Do you get pounced on by the supervisor? I don't use loads of vouchers, just 3 each time to reduce my toiletry spend to a few pence but disguise it with other shopping. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but am new to this!

Personally I would avoid. In the case of Mr Policeman, who self scaned over a billion points - he got had for fraud. I prefere to go to a tesco *clone and at least they can decide whether i can have 14 quid off my 5 quid H&B spend.
*do u want help with your packing..have you got a clubcard. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

I don't know if this is helpful or whether someone has posted this before but I was unsure about what was classified as health or beauty. I went on the the grocery shopping online and looked under the headings there.

    all gone now
  • Hello peeps

Has anyone been shopping today? Don't want to alarm anyone un-neccesarily, but I've just had quite a few vouchers stopped at the til. The SA was more than willing to scan them (had a mixture of 50 pointers, £2.50, £1.25 etc and I made sure I mixed them up) but quite a lot wouldn't scan. I did have the right vouchers for what I bought too as I've been doing this a little while. My sister was at another till at the same time and she had the same trouble. Strangely I went last night to the same Tesco and they all scanned through?! Very puzzled.

Luckily I did manage to get some of that Charles Worthington detangler stuff that scanned as 1p.:j

Earlier on in the thread a kind poster mentioned that there was a 60p moc off Radox Daily Elements anti-perspirant deodrant on some bottles of Radox Daily Elements shower cream. I duly got two bottles the last time I was in Tescos (in amongst my other H&B items). I've now got the voucher out to use when I do my Tesco shop later on today and have noticed that the voucher doesn't start with 99 - It starts 5 000231...

Does this mean it will only scan off the actual product mentioned on the voucher?

    TIA for any replies.

I've answered my own question. You can tell I'm only a trainee!! I was actually looking at the wrong code!!! Dohh! The 60p money off coupon that you can find on the back of some of the Radox Daily Elements shower cream does scan off anything as the code actually starts 99. I tried it this afternoon. (In my local the vouchers appear to be on the white shower cream and also either the bright blue or green ones.) I might have to get some more of these whilst they are still on bogof.

Two shops today - one good and one bad. On the first one the sa carefully inspected every voucher. She tried to give me the peach 50 pointer back saying it wouldn't work as I hadn't bought any of the items. I had to mention that it had worked in the past and so she put it through. She wouldn't accept the £3.50 Mail voucher - I didn't argue. She wasn't going to accept the old £1.25 toiletry Quit but I got her to try and she had great glee handing it back when the till wouldn't accept it. (I always forget that that needs a £5, before bogof, spend. I had only bought 2 CW, 2 Original Source and some cheap blades for DH.) She also wasn't going to accept a £1 moc for the Sunday Times Travel magazine saying I hadn't bought it when I had. She checked the till receipt to confirm. (I had a 50 point £2 spend magazine till spit to use in conjunction with this.) So I won't be going anywhere near her again.

Undeterred, I did another shop this pm. I, initially, had to do a 'oh, I've forgotten something' as one of the established assistants beckoned me over to her till. So, went down an aisle and back up and got a lovely, young, student ca. I chatted along to her and she put all my vouchers through plus the Daily Mail Voucher.

Whilst doing first shop this morning DH said he needed some Alker Seltzer. "But I've no health vouchers on me" I said in a panic-stricken voice. "So does that mean I've got to feel rough for another two hours until we get home and you pick up some vouchers and then go back to Tescos! (We weren't in our local one at this time.) I relented!

One final note. I got a beautiful necklace from Goldsmiths this morning, courtesy of Mr T. This is the first time I've actually cashed in my vouchers and I've been saving them for a couple of years but up until a short time ago my quarterly vouchers were only about £10. I'm hoping that with this fabulous site, forum and thread I'll be able to visit Goldsmiths more frequently. I'm a dreamer and I can dream about dripping in diamonds on fabulous holidays! Back to reality and work on Monday.

PS Prior to finding this thread I would do one weekly shop and mutter all the way round about how I hated supermarket shopping. Now I find myself splitting my weekly shopping list over 3 or 4 visits.

Well I have had a fantastic weekend. I live in the north west and have had very little success finding any vouchers, but I today needed to drive a very long way down the M6 and A50 (for a family thing) and my sister and I planned our route and stopped off at 6 tescos on the way and we managed to find some vouchers and had a whale of a time treating ourselves to toiletries we would not normally buy, our husbands think we have finally flipped, spending most of our day in tesco and coming home full of excitement, telling them all about it. Anyway thank you to everyone who has posted on here to explain how it all works, its fantastic!!!

The other day after reading here about spreading points between cards, I used a different keyfob for the points.. (on a big spend) then Like and idiot I handed over my clubcard plus card to pay.. haha

    Eupho :)

I did exactly that yesterday. I am guessing you only get the points on the keyfob swipe and not a double whammy
