2nd one is £10 cheaper in their monthly offer catalogue and carries a 3 year guarantee.
Don't need for games, just general surfing and catch up tv etc.

Actually only £16.55 cheaper, as said in my post £10 cheaper in the offer catalogue, £109 plus VAT = £130.80.
Not keen on that supplier as they attempt to remove statutory rights, (DSR), under their T&C's: -
"5.0 Unwanted Or Incompatible Goods
If you purchased the goods online and are a consumer (a private person buying for their personal use) then you may cancel your purchase at any time within 7 working days of receipt starting the day after delivery by informing CCL in writing (email, fax or letter) and we will give you a refund of the price paid. It is a pre-condition to our acceptance of these unwanted goods that they are returned in an unused condition, complete and in a condition reflecting your statutory duty of care (at your own cost)."
DSR's allow you to open and try out the goods.
Also they only appear to offer a 2 year carry in warranty, and are based in Bradford, (Acer have a 3 year).
CPC are local to me and I can have it delivered free, then I have the DSR's to fall back on and can take it back myself.
One other thing I need to know, as you will be aware from my last thread re "disc partitioning", I have an old computer, what would I need to know to be sure this monitor would be compatible with my computer?
My current monitor is a 17" CRT and is connected via VGA, I assume a better connection should I buy this sort of monitor would be via DVI?

How you connect it will be determined by the available connections on your graphics card.
HDMI is better than DVI is better than VGAHow do I add a signature?0 -

So if my graphics card does not have the right conns, could I still connect via VGA and would the view be acceptable bearing in mind I am OK with the CRT at the moment, although I suppose if not to difficult it would be better if I could upgrade.
How do I find out the conns on my graphics card?
Can it be upgraded? If so how?

The Acer one you are looking at has a VGA connection so you can use the cable you use now, if in the future you get a new computer you could use either a DVI or an HDMI connection with the right cable of course.0

I understand that part, but was wondering if the viewing would still be acceptable, plus there is another, smaller, conn on the back of the computer at the side of the VGA conn that would be either a DVI or HDMI, if so would it be better to get a different cable?

That is the one Toxteth pointed to in post #2, and I responded to in post #3.
Well it was when I first saw your post, but I did not notice your edit when I came back to quote;)

If you have HDMI or DVI out on your PC it's better.
HDMI
DVI
