The cpap machine I got when I have mask on a feel like is all alien to me. I feel like I cant hear what's going on around me due to the noise from machine I can hear my breathing really loud as if its amplifying through the machine. Its going to get some getting use too
  • You don't need to hear what's going on.

You're going to get some sleep.

Keep going - you'll get to a point where, not only can you not sleep without putting the machine on first, you'll put it on and drop off almost immediately as you associate it with sleep.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I didnt get a good nights sleep either I took the mask off after a an hour or two just couldn't breathe properly, my nose got bungled up. I think I going to have to go back to nose only mask just cant get use to the full face mask. I ended up turning fan on in room and sleeping that way abet not very well. Its rare I dont have a headache got one now but its not a stinker. I ended up have a kip in evening last night around 6.30pm to 8.15pm

if air is escaping around the bridge of your nose and going in your eyes, then i find sitting the mask further down my nose works better as the nose is wider and more fleshy, so you can get a good seal. (works best with full face, as you can tuck the mask under your chin, to keep it down)

i agree with jojo though. i can no longer sleep if im not wearing my mask. the whoosing sound sends me off in minutes. rather than my usual 2-3hours if im not wearing it.

also if i feel im a bit bunged up, i put a blob of vick inside the mask. some machines allow you to put essential oils, like eucalyptus on the filter, so as to alleviate the dry air

I guess it just takes some time to get sue to using one. I am quite noise sensitive though until I fall asleep. I just got use to having fan on after a while

The nose only one SEEMS to be working for me.

Slept nearly 12 hours (!!!) last night. That is with 4 wake up for a pee breaks... grrrrr Wish it was 12 hours non stop sleep, maybe would be feeling better if it was.

No air leaks so far, really surprised as had no faith in this litle mask to start.

    Is it helping though?

    NO idea.

Waking up feeling really dizzy and wobbly and takes me quite a while to feel semi normal..hmmm

Bump this up pleased with the cpap machine, its helped although I often wake in night and take it off as I get bunged up this isnt because of the machine its on going problem with my nose/sinuses

Still hate having to use the machine and the noise of you breathing which seems amplified. But overall I have far less headaches now and not as tired. Plus I am allowed to drive still I notified DVLA with letter from doctor. Insurance company only wanted to know if DVLA didnt want me too
