thanks welshdragon, yay... what a lucky magical day :j :j

everything went through including 4 x 3.5 DM, SA even gave me 203 green pts.
the black tshirt was £5 each and 2 for £8, didn't know that and luckily grabbed some socks and briefs just in case. many clothes are reduced when buy more than one, but this is not advertised in shop.

think i will be off clothing for a while now, really couldn't find anything i want/need anymore.

the £2.5 from peach HB was rejected again today, it happened twice already, did this happen to anyone else?

    1 x £10 blue
    1 x £10 yellow
    1 x £7 yellow
1 x £6 blue ( of £30 mens spend till accepted it even though only £20 was mens clothing )
    1 x £6 green get active
    1 x £6 Quit
I'm not brave enough to try and get past a cashier with all of those , I used self scan

I used many many SS tills...before discovering willing cashiers.

I think your SS tills must be more tollerant up in Scotland.

From my experience the SS till asks for verification after about the 2nd or 3rd coupon, and then its up to the SA.(I sometimes use up to 40 coupons in one transaction)

Doing it through an SA, the till never(rarely) beeps, so the chances of success are possibly greater using the manned tills.

Although having said that, I discovered a couple of SS till SA's that didnt mind accepting anything....but the SS tills were fairly new then, since then there have been a couple of National Newspaper stories which may have brought greater scrutiny to them.

This weekend I managed £330 worth of goods for £28....my final 3 "yellow" shops................using (young) manned tills

    I survived....

And yes, i got my sandals...:o

Well done Patty........feels good, doesn't it.

Hi ,yesterday my tesco sa said that i had to purchase the toiletries on the front of the coupons, i said "why dont u just scan it and let the till decide?!! "he said no ! what crap i pointed out that on the back it says any ? along as it was a 8 pound spend , I could not work it out.. I'd brought
1 perm kit, deodorant, toothpaste, hair serum , shampoo , carex hand wash bogof, tampons, razors, shower gels and groceries £101.00 later  to only use 2 till spills and a fairy liqiuid £0.20p voucher I was well annoyed ,  whats going on with the coupons ??!! anyone else having trouble?

The SA is talking rubbish, a similar incident happened to another MSE'er during the week, I rang the store manager yesterday and he blamed inexperienced Checkout Staff, and denied it was either his, the stores or anyone elses policy, and apologised, and offered a refund............Some staff just seem to make it up as they go along.

Does anyone know official policy on this with tesco?
I'm now stuck in a quandry as daughter dislikes everything I bought her being a nearly teen thing and I need the money back!

Tesco have a 28 days return policy if your goods are still inthe same condition and you have your receipt.......however......although your coupons became legal tender when the till operator gave you your receipt, It would be hard to convince anyone that you should have money back for your coupon spend....although 9 times out of 10 there isnt a problem.

If you only require the cash you spent returned, there shouldnt be a problem, but there wont be a specific policy to deal with this.

The coupons actually say they "have no cash value"......so getting anything for them under these circumstance would be hard.

You have been very unlucky in your choice of CS dragons.

It could be a case of ....win some.....lose the odd one.

I have known of incidences by inexperienced CS's where a refund has been given without a receipt.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Hiya Vellum :D:D - lovely to meet you today :T on my transactions I used 4 x £2.50 peach spending £40 on toiletries, buying original source items, sun tan lotion, fake tan and some bath foam. All vouchers went through.

As for returning clothing - don't think I will the Welsh rugby fleece I bought DS looks lovely on him and that will save me a journey to tescos.

ok so i ventured further afield today and lets just say ' better the devil you know!' Picked the bored looking teen but low n behold the supervisor was helping pack bags hidden at the end of the next till! The girl said she got wrong for putting all the vouchers through before so shouted her over and she scrutinised the whole lot - put through a couple and left me with over £80 to pay! NOT HAPPY and even the people in the queue behind said why dont they just scan them and the till will tell them yes or no! :rotfl:

Anyway got my own back by going to my local where i got a lovely happy girl who said 'lets get this right down eh - just give me your vouchers and i will keep going until it tells me no more!' :T :T Got £80+ shop down to £7 - she even tried scanning my only £10 voucher i had left to get it to 0 but it wouldnt let her! :rotfl:

Welshy be warned I used some yellow clothing vouchers yesterday.Idea was keep some we wanted for hols in june and take rest back thus reducing my outlay.I tried 3 transactions of 60.The boys caps dont go through boys but as sports wear so second transaction the cashier put flashing light on and I was dragged off to customer services. She refused to let me put third lot of vouchers through.
She then also said I wouldnt be allowed to return any clothing as I had used vouchers plus she refused to use them all. This was handforth dean.
I tried to return some today at macclesfield.Unfortunately cs from hell was on and marked coupons on my receipt and said I could only change clothing for clothing.

    Hi flufff,
This happened to me too. I was not pushing for a refund and was told by CS that I could only change clothes for clothes. There was nothing else there that I wanted so I asked if the money could be put onto a Moneycard and the CS did this without a problem. Perhaps you could try this?
    I hope you're lucky.
