Family holiday sleeping arrangements

Family of mum, dad, son (20) and daughter (17) go on holiday and have 2 rooms.

What would you expect the sleeping arrangements to be?

1. Mum and dad in 1 room, son and daughter in the other? or
2. Mum and daughter in 1 room, dad and son in the other?

That's what I'd say. It's ok the daughter and son sharing if they were younger but now they're grown up, it might be awkward.

Have you asked them what they'd prefer?

Now I'd probably be the opposite and say mum and dad in one room and siblings in the other. It is family after all, and I'm pretty sure I'd rather share with my brother than my mum. Plus mum and dad deserve a bit of privacy and time to themselves, that's part of the point of a holiday.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Definitely mum and dad in 1 room and "kids" in t'other. They can get changed etc in the bathroom.
Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

agree with mum and dad, siblings. I've slept in a double bed with my brother before as a teen.

The only problem was his snoring and taking over my side of the bed! :@

I would be asking the kids, I would probably think that they would share, presuming that there are twin beds of course
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Mum and Dad in one bedroom, kids toss a coin for the other - the loser gets the sofa (and space in sibling's bedroom for their clothes).

Unless son is a gentleman, in which case he'd offer his sister the bedroom anyway. ;)

Also is it 1 double & 1 twin?

Just had two weeks at the Olympics - family of 5 in a 1 bedroomed flat... (accom was free - so worth the hassle).

    Me, Oh, and DD1 (21), DS (20) and DD2 (18).

Myself and the DD's had the bedroom ( 1 double - I slet on the floor) and OH and DS shared the living room.

No probs at all - except that DS has a greater understanding of my frustration at OH's snoring!

Kids in the twin, mum and dad in the double.

If they object, I'd probably take a blow up mattress and one could kip in the living area.
