What is Tesco/ASDA coupon policy?

That's why there are always so many of these on eBay, I have often bought the Sainsbury's ones on ebay when they've been badly listed so not got many bids . They are acceptable at Tesco, it's their policy to take them (and they scan without buying the minimum amount....and outside of the stated week too, either early or late).


If you're not gonna use them don't hesitate to pm me as I would be happy to swap something for them and will give them a good home where they will be used! Sorry couldn't resist, please don't bin them!

just as a matter of interest i probably would have let you have them but what would you have swapped for?

Well I swap quite a few things on https://www.paidtoshop.co.uk (many of us are on that site too, go and have a look when you get time!).

Anyhoo, if you've got six weeks of £9 off a £60 shop and they are all in-date, you would get lots of offers from loads of people, not just me. But for what it's worth I would have offered lots of spare vouchers I have here, different Health & Beauty coupons, yellow clothing vouchers, maybe a few manufacturers' coupons too.

What you have is worth over £50 to a keen Tesco shopper....and don't forget to tell your friend that any out of date ones will still scan (I don't normally use Out of Date coupons but as Tesco take these as a straight 'loss leader' anyway, to nab Sainsburys business, the date is irrelevant really). If I was to try last week's coupon this week and it was spotted, I would just say brightly - and slightly dimly - 'oh, sorry, I gave you the wrong one, here you are' and pocket the old one to try again tomorrow...

She shouldn't queue up at an old/middle-aged lady's till....they scrutinise and refuse coupons like the money's coming out of their own pocket! Best to shop in the evening or at weekends for happy-scanning-chappies on the till (young or old).

Last week I decided to try early evenings with good success.£20 off a £50 shop all in date vouchers.
Then today went to same lad.He called cs from hell over right jobsworth.
Despite fact I'd spent a small fortune on toiletries she would only let me use one voucher and was funny over a colgate one even though I'd bought product.She didnt class shower gel,bubble bath,toothpaste as toiletries.Well I wouldnt of bought them without vouchers.She wouldnt accept any other vouchers.So in end I walked out and left shopping.
This was Macclesfield the big store.
Well tomorrows another day.
She so belittled me when I could of had 25% of upwards on selfscan.
Tesco Stockport cs even told me they take 25% in non duplicated coupons.
So next time will be another cashier.
Why do some cs act like dragons?I guess its only kick they get.
Each time I go in they make a point of hounding me.

Good on you flufff, leaving the shopping at the till. I can't stand those supervisors who say that certain things are 'not toiletries' when we know that they are as we have studied the facts better than they have.

I even had a till supervisor the other day looking at my H&B vouchers and saying in an accusatory tone 'did you buy the Herbal Essences, the Lynx showergel...' (silly woman was looking at the pictures on the coupons). I set her straight, politely, about how they work against any toiletries/beauty but she only let me use one of each type of H&B coupon.

So a week later I returned most of the stuff for a refund.....it was make-up bags and bath essence from the Finest/BNatural range which has gone down in price now that those £1 off coupons are out of date. I cheerfully told CS I was returning it because it has now gone down in price and I may rebuy it. The price reductions on these ranges are valid for another 3 weeks I think so plenty of scope for more couponing later....

Ive had some other amusing problems at same store with extra points coupons...
So many points of a five pound spend at fresh meat counter didnt work on sausages!Cs said they werent meat till I asked what was in them so she gave me the points lol
Oh and apparent potatoes arent veg but that Tesco for you

I had a voucher for 25 points when you buy veg and tried it with a cucumber but it wasn't accepted?!!

I had a voucher for organic products and it worked on non organic fruit and veg. Also the tesco finest wine points voucher works without buying the finest wine !

the same thing happened to me cs did put the points on but she thought cucumber was salad not veg, then went no to tell me rhubarb is a veg not fruit, gosh all these years i've been eating veggie crumble and custard :rotfl:

I scanned my coupons at the self service machine and it accepted it, but the sa came running over and asked me which coupons i was using and whether i had boought the items (which ofcourse i didnt) so she took out all my coupons and gave them back to me! so annoyed came home rang the manager talked to him myself he didnt have a clue about his own stores policy about coupons and said he would get bak to me tonight which i am still waiting! so annoyed!!! what shud i do???
