perhaps I have misinterpreted the post - it wouldnt occur to me that a car would be used to film streets and parked there for months. or that it would have a sign saying 'Google Car'!
hmmmm - a car displaying google car signage - is that to warn people that they are being filmed for posterity?
lol oh hang on - the guy up the street works for Sky - his van is parked outside all night (and the better part of the day). does that mean that Sky is watching us?
Again, I'm sorry, but you must have been living on mars to have never heard of Google Streetview. It's been pretty big news since they introduced it and has been featured in/on all major news outlets.
It's basically a car (or rather several) that have travelled round quite a heck of a lot of roads all over the world taking photos of them. So when you go to Google maps you get a 'streetview' option which enables you to do just that. Personally i think it's a pretty nifty advance in technology.0 -
Although i love the idea of Google Streetview when i try looking at my street on there it takes you to the other side of the village. They've got it completely messed up and you can't go down any of the streets in this side of the village except the main road that takes you along the edge. I've tried notifying them a couple of times but they never change it.
I bet stalkers have never had it so good0 -
Is it this one?0

Like this? Does it have the camera equipment?
Or is it just a car where someone has sold advertising space to Google?
Yes has the camera on top0 -
It might sound like a dumb question but are you sure it's a genuine google car? If it is then maybe the driver lives locally?
I've yet to see a Google car but i'm dull so would feel a bit excited before my need for privacy kicked in!
I find it odd that it has been there for so long and i don't think the guy that drives it lives around here0 -

I wouldnt know - I have better things to do with my time than google cars .
but then, our car is probably only used for twenty minutes a day unless its Thursday - then its used for over an hour to enable me to go shopping. and a couple of times a year .......shock ..........we drive to a holiday destination and use it to drive around there. then its back to its home outside our house. OH uses his van for work and I dont drive - so most of the time the car is immobile outside the house. If my nieghbours in the next couple of streets want to spend their time watching my car on google - I would say - get a life!
I do have a life thanks and i work i don't sit around watching it all day i am just asking if anyone else has a google car that has been parked in their road for X months,,0 -
