Morning all,
Another nice day here again, I have a wash on which will be hung out, need to drop dd at work then home and start painting the 3rd and (hopefully) final coat on the lounge walls.
Managed to get a beautiful blind yesterday, having looked for ages online and several 'real' shops, I finally found one in John Lewis, a beautiful linen roman blind for £22, even the shop assistant commented on how cheap it was, I honestly think it might have been a mistake, but I scarpered pretty quick, just curtains to get now.
Hester good luck with SS, my mum used to do something similar, (respite care) and loved it xx
Cottage pie for dinner, we did not fancy it yesterday, so nice and easy.
Have good days all xx0 -

HH - hope you both enjoy your day out x
RR - that blind sounds like a great bargain!:T
Tru - how about making a pavlova or some meringues with the eggs?
Hilstep - that doesn't sound like very many calories for a day - hope you are eating enough as eating too little isn't a healthy way to lose weight(lecture over:D) x
day off today:j
have had a coffee with my sister on her way to work and gave her a birthday card and flowers for tomorrow to go with the magazine subscription I am renewing for her(its a great pressie cos she passes them on to me afterwards:D)
WM is on its second load. Have cleaned and mopped so house tidy just a bit of ironing for later.
Plans for today are - bit of painting(pictures not walls) and a bit of gardening.
Made a batch of Welsh Cakes at work yesterday from Delia's recipe and they were yummy so might treat DH to some too - will try and keep my hands off them as I want to lose the few pounds I put on on my holiday.
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
This is the fourth time in almost as many days that I have had to register before I could post. What is happening. I always tick the 'Remember me' button.
Sorry.
Good morning.
Hester: I hope you loved your day in Salisbury. I spent a lot of my childhood there staying with a Great Aunt when the bombs were getting a bit much in Southampton. Then I lived there for 2 years when I was at College in the fifties. The College was in the Cathedral Close and the main house is now the Museum. Whenever I go back I stand outside the Museum and gaze at the window of the bedroom I lived in for those lovely years. It looked out over the west side of the cathedral.
Magic!
tru: I read about all your HG produce and burst into noisy, jealous sobs. Then I look at my empty, slug-ridden veggie beds and howl some more.
Went out last night and only ate a modest portion of macaroni cheese and a bit of garlic bread but came home feeling stuffed.
So today I am only doing some cauliflower, leeks and carrots (all bought from the farm Tru,) and a couple of sausages for lunch and plan on a boiled egg and crispbread for tea. I have to tackle this weight seriously.
Have to fill in some certificates for the Rev today, do a bit of tidying and dusting and then head down for the church magazine.
Have a lovely day .

Morning All
DD's friends were lovely last night, no drunks, even though there was plenty of booze I think in total they drank 10 bottles between them, and four didn't drink at all because they were driving. One of the boys took three home in his car or they were going to have to walk 8 miles home, the food was wolfed down and they were all gone by midnight. Who says the young are all binge drinking louts, DD's friends prefer a cup of tea or soft drinks :A:rotfl:
DD's BF ended up decorating the cake, because I had done too much and could hardly stand and my hands had given up the ghost tooBut he loved doing it and kept giving me a cuddle because I had a little cry and he caught me
)Then DD and DH cleared everything up when I went to bed.
DH has just taken DD to the dentist and they are going to town afterwards. I just have washing to do , I have been ordered by the family that I am not to do too much today and DS and DD's BF are my watchers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Tru could you make some cakes, pancakes or quiches and freeze them?
Hester have a lovely day at Salisbury

Hi all.
Congratulations on the new job Mr Judi:T
Beemuzed good idea writing down all the stuff you're worrying about - hopefully getting it on paper will clear your mind so that you can see solutions, not just problems.:oTru I could do with some of those eggs.flutterbyuk25 wrote: »Before that I need to dye my hair, all of a sudden the greys are shining through .
Derek & Clive are being collected tomorrow morning, so I've done their postcard home already - asking me to write something witty and apposite that early in the morning is a total non-starter!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

How about pickled eggs in a jar and it could make a nice present as well.
