AVG or advast?

If you're happy with mse stick with it, but to say it's a better choice than avast in terms of detection/speed/intrusiveness/interface/memory&cpu usage is misleading for the reasons already mentioned and backed up by 3rd party tests.!!

In terms of intrusiveness, memory and CPU impact is not misleading, I have direct comparisons of before and after, on truly low-spec, humble machines.
Interface - well that's going to be down to preference - but personally, I couldn't care less about the interface.
What's the lowest spec PC you personally run AVG, Avast, or MSE on, currently?0 -
It's a futile argument, which I'm not going to continue - but since you asked, Pentium2 - 400Mhz.!!

I am running Windows7 (32bit) on an Acer 1.6Ghz processor with 1Gig of RAM.
Other tech forums also recommend MSE over AVG, but as I am currently on Avira, I am looking for a reliable viruscan on freeware that wont pester me with the nagware Avira does.
If AVG or Avast have similar nagware I would stick with Avira, so far as I know MSE does not have nagware, out of MSE,AVG and Avast, which seem to be the top three recommendations on all the tech forums, I am looking for the best one for stability, resourcefulness and security minus the nagware that Avira throws out.
I do not go onto dodgy websites or download software on my netbook, I use my netbook mainly for e-mails and web browsing. For games or downloads I use my desktop.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Any sounds/popups in avast can be turned off completely or configured as you wish, so there is no nagging, no annoyance. just untick the chrome option during installation.
mse is free, so there is nothing to nag about, they make their money elsewhere.!!

If only it was as easy, having tried to disable them from various advice, I cannot rid myself of the nagware that pops up on the right of my taskbar (regardless of which browser i am using - I use firefox). There is much about disabling the nagware, none of which has proved effective to date.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
