Taking Homemade sandwiches on Ryanair

Hello, Can anyone tell me if I can take homemade sandwiches through airport security to eat on my Ryanair flight? I have read that Ryan air do allow this but I am unsure wether it meant homemade or shop bought ones from the airport lounge!

Usually eat half in the airport and half on the plane, 90 mins in the air without food is just unthinkable, and no the old guy with the specs isn't me, just the Greggs delivery chap.
