Sue for the pavement being uneven by all means but 'Psychological Trauma' for tripping over is hysterical.
I was semi traumatised after a fall once as a child.
Albeit I was only semi-traumatised because the school nurse insisted there was nothing wrong with me (probably because it couldnt be treated with detol and a nail brush - which was her favourite and probably a favourite of most school nurses in the 80's) and refused to call my mum, telling my teacher I was just "putting it on". I fell around 1030. Mum used to walk to meet me coming home from school. She knew there was something wrong so took me to hospital.
I had broken bones. And being made to walk around on it all day had caused further damage.
Didnt stop me running around in the playground though! Just made me dislike that one particular nurse :rotfl:

Kids fall over all the time, not many need therapy and a payout to get over it. As a child I hit my head twice on concrete posts playing football both requiring medical attention - I needed no more than a stitch and lollypop each time and at no time did the thought (to me or my parents) of money enter into it. It's just a shame any trip or fall immediately brings dollar-signs to the front of the brain.
Obviously did not read my previous posts then.'Football is part of I, when I play the world wakes up around me' - Bob Marley

Unlike the car, there is no direct financial loss to the child. (Poss cost of a plaster?) so it is in fact just an earner for the parents.
You have not read my previous posts either I take it.'Football is part of I, when I play the world wakes up around me' - Bob Marley

I read them all and have been posting from the first page so have you been reading mine?
You have not suffered any further loss so I think you being paid out over their further failure is frivolous as every single person that has had to use the path since has been equally inconvenienced (which is hardly anything at all...).Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

What is the additional inconvenience YOU have suffered above and beyond what anyone else has walking along the path?
It not being repaired affects everyone, hence YOU alone getting the payout seems somewhat backwards.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

As far as I know, no body else has had an accident, but I am not stood there 24/7 so that does not count for much at all.
I am not saying I have suffered above and beyond anyone else YOU are, We have suffered and if you HAD actually read all my posts you would know why, and to what degree.'Football is part of I, when I play the world wakes up around me' - Bob Marley

Children have tripped and fallen since Adam and Eve. In what way is your suffering in any way deserving compensation compared to others?0 -

A little. I understand the annoyance at the council accepting liability and not actually getting round to sorting things.
This needing money for 'mental trauma' and 'stress' malarkey I don't buy for a second.
You make it sound as this is some kind of crusade for justice where your family have been severely wronged in something akin to the slaughters of Zimbabwe.somethingcorporate wrote: »So what has the lack of path being repaired actually cost you?
Are they sending out "settlements" to anyone that has had to walk over said path?
I hate this pointlessly litigious culture we are moving towards - it just shows a total degradation of morals - grabbing cash at whatever opportunity at the expense of whoever else.
I hope the cash helps you feel better. I am sure all your fellow CT payers will be happy for the increased premiums as a result of your claim.
^Sums it up for me tbh.
I think you need to try and MTFU and find other things to occupy your time.
IMVHO of course.0 -

I don't know the cases of others, their loss injury etc so that is a pointless question.StrongWork wrote: »A little. I understand the annoyance at the council accepting liability and not actually getting round to sorting things.

IMVHO of course.
If you had read my posts you would know I was inconvenienced financially also, as a direct consequence of the issue. May I suggest IMVHO you read through posts more diligently in future.
Anyway I am bored of the pointless bickering, if you feel that way good for you. :T'Football is part of I, when I play the world wakes up around me' - Bob Marley
