Sky staff are blatant liars!

Options
My 12 month contract was due to end on 8th August.......I gave the required 30 days notice on 8th July.
On Saturday, I phoned Sky to ask Sky if there were any offers they were running for existing customers.......the moron"s reply was an emphatic NO.
So, I asked him, why they had sent me a letter offering me 50% off for 12 months plus £50 credit to my account.
"oh, I"m sorry, yes, you"re right, there is the offer".
He promptly reinstated my account, as I didn't trust him, I logged in online to make sure that he had applied the discounts......which he had. So, now I pay £27 per month for movies and sports plus there is a credit of £50 on my account.
The sad thing is that where I live there really is no alternative otherwise I wouldn't really give them the time of day!!!

Why 'no alternative'-presumably you can get both Freesat and Freeview if you don't want susbcription TV-or Freesat from Sky?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Why that's unpleasant, he is a moron and a liar?

Maybe he just didn't have it on file that they had sent you an offer? or maybe because you phoned and asked for offers for existing customers, when you were no longer a customer?

Exactly what I was going to say.Sky (like all the other ISP's ect) have numerous offers on at any given time & it's near on impossible to know what offers are on,certainly when I worked for Sky,we weren't advised of any offers that came up,we had to manually check to see what offers were on via the Sky website. And the only way the CS rep you spoke to would know what letters were sent to you would be by the correspondance tab in Chordiant. If it was a standard mailshot, then he wouldn't have that anyway, even in the correspondance tab.

You must have to have the patience of a saint to work at a sky call centre.

If you didnt want Sky enough to cancel it why ring up to reinstate it.

Why ask if they have any new offers to existing customers when you knew that there was an offer and as has been said, you werent an existing customer.

Why on earth do you call this person a moron and a liar !!!

The whole post says more about you than the poor Sky person at the other end of the phone.

I worked in Sky BBand faults when they first launched, starting in the first line then moving to second line, where I was dealing with escallated faults, lines & BT,
We had a cal center in Lipa that were useless & we nearly always ended up redoing the job they should have done properly, quite often we got copy & past notes that didn't relate to the real issue.I ended up being put off sick with stress related illness twice by my doctor & I have a friend who still works there,he's out on long term illness again thru stress. One of the blokes I worked with keeled over & died of a heart attack at his desk about two years ago.

Ive always had excellents service from Sky in all departments, every single time the person who has answered the phone has known exactly what I was talking about, i am always impressed by the instant knowledge, and I mean in all departments, sales, and faults. I cannot fault anything to be honest.
Just lately I was sent a new Sky plus HD box for my loyalty which I had to install myself but great stuff, didnt cost me a penny either.

From my experience you get the best results by being polite, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

Anyway, since it was only one person, the thread title should be "Sky staff is blatant liar (and a moron too)".
