Great news about Ed; congratulations to all the young Flystudents on their GCSE results.
I had done the bathroom yesterday so have completed the lists for this week and have been flying in the garden this morning - the patio is clear at last! Have also managed to get hold of our favourite handyman to ask if he would decorate the hall, stairs and landing before Christmas (including new bannisters to replace the 70s style ranch rails) and he sounds keen to get on with the job - maybe he hasn't got a lot of other work lined up?
After dropping DH off at the beer festival at 2 pm (he's stewarding), I'm going out with a friend for tea at the garden centre, but I will be home alone this evening (DH won't be back until after 11) so I can get on with some more bits and pieces then.
My back is aching after all the bending over, so I'm going to get a cup of coffee and sit down with some sewing for half an hour before preparing lunch. I am so tired that I will probably fall asleep so, just in case, I will set the timer to wake me up again!0 -
I have decided I am going to declutter a lot of books as I don't re-read them. I like the idea of trying to get some cash from them but don't really know where to start, can anyone help me?MFW 2025 No. 7 £1931.07/£2700

Afternoon
You can sell books through Green Metropolis.
I've been flying all week and also gradually going through cupboards and flinging lots of stuff that we've been keeping "just in case". If we need it now, tough! Had to do it while DH is at work though because he'll never get rid of anything.
Well done to everyone on their exam results and a big well done to Ed for his amazing progress

Hello all;
I'm ahead of my lists, as we did quite a bit of cleaning and dusting round after Derek and Clive went home yesterday.:T Mr LW should know better than to stand around looking like he needs a task to do.:rotfl:
Dusty many thanks for the Ed update; it doesn't seem so long ago that we were all hoping and praying that he'd survive. The progress he's made thus far is fantastic!:T
Bossy please go and have a chat with the GP hun; if your wondering if you should go, then you probably should.:o
Betty can I be cheeky and ask how you make eggy bread, please? It's something Mr LW has mentioned a time or two that his mum used to make when he was little - I hadn't particularly thought of doing it myself, but if someone here can tell me how it's done, maybe we can have some over the BH weekend.;)
Ted's arrived; but I think his owners packed his kit in a hurry, as he's come with no towel, and no dishes for his food and water. Not to worry - I've found some he can borrow.;) They've sent his food and treats, which is the important bit, and he's got his beanbag and a load of toys (including, can you believe, a fluffy flea with "bite me" stitched onto it).:rotfl: Oh yes, he's also got anti-flybotics, which I gather can be got down his neck easily if pressed into a bit of cheese.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Try zapper, or Amazon trade in if you just want them gone quickly. Most of mine go through at 25p which is better than nothing. I have sold better books on Amazon direct to people but it can take a while for them to sell.
High speed decluttering and cleaning today as I am off for a few days. Trying hard to make as much difference as possible.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

I have used Amazon and Green Metropolis although sometimes you have to wait ages before anyone wants one.
We Buy Books and Zapper are okay but they don't take everything and generally their offers are low.0 -
Ebay stuff listed.. I WILL get this carp gone!! I need to check through the older listings for school stuff and relist what is still lurking.. I'm sure I have some grey age 16 girls trousers to shift too..
Squeak has a picnic to keep her going until dinner tonight.. she was up about 6 so is shattered and she isn't allowed to nap.. she will probably nod off in the car but is being woken when we get back. bed early for that one I think!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
