and they had a very good caricaturist there, how likely would you to have a picture done, either of you or your other half?
It could either be a cheeky tongue in cheek one or just a nice drawing.
Am interested...:D

Would stay as far away from them as possible.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Thanks for the input.
Obviously it would be optional, no one would be forced to!

Maybe I should expand...
Our reception is fairly modest, we have a private dining room in a lovely old pub and can only have a maximum of 50 people. Because of the room size we can't have any live music and we both hate 'discos' with a passion. We will obviously have background music but when I saw this mans work I was really impressed with it. I started wondering whether we would have one done if we were at a wedding and he was there and I think we probably would, just because we are always looking our best then! I am not a fan of having my picture taken either though

Personally I would be far more up for a photo booth style 'capture the moment' thing (or even a 'normal' portrait artist) than a caricature. Simply because I'm aware enough of my own imperfections without having someone highlight them and make them even larger than they are.0

Something I was very aware of but he doesn't seem to go for that 'style', he can do them but prefers to just draw as he sees if that makes sense? A photobooth was something else I thought about but we just don't have room
, running out of ideas!

Wow I would love that think its a great idea! Its something different and something you can remember and something to take home! It would keep guests entertained during photos. Just aslong as they were complimentry not making guests feel bad!0

Thanks, I am glad someone else could get where I was coming from, a lot will depend on the guests but I don't want to ask them as I will give it away :rotfl:. I think quite a few of our friends would and I know people like my brother would too, just for a laugh. I think he would just set himself up a table and people would approach him if they wanted, rather than him 'touting' for want of a better word!

I'd never have it done.... the only place for a caricaturist is when you're on some daft and heady first/second date and everything seems fun because you're really into the person you're with and it's a hot/sunny day and you've had a cool beer, so "why not?" ... that's the only time it's likely to happen .... and even then it'd have to be £2.0

I've been to a few wedding fairs where these have been offering their services. The ones I've seen aren't really quick - 5 mins per person, although when speaking to them they did say everyone who wants one will get one by the end of the night.
I don't think they are 'entertainment' as such though, as you only spend 5 mins etc with the guy, but if you like the idea then go with it.
I would maybe try and squeeze a photo area in though, that way those who want to have their pics taken will wander over. The one we are making really doesn't take up much room.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
