If you went to a wedding...

I think I'd need to see what other people's pictures came out like first before I did it. But that's mainly because I am really, really unphotogenic (every single photo of me I either look drunk - because I'm blinking - or like a mad woman because I'm having to do a crazy stare to make sure my eyes are open!) and whilst I know it's not the same I'd be really paranoid about getting a bad picture. So I think if other people's came out OK I might go for it but I wouldn't necessarily be the first to go up.
But in all honesty you know your guests and how they would feel about it, and if you think you'd be OK with it and you like it then have it - it's your wedding after all!
Just as an extra for the photo booth idea to save space - could you maybe get a box of props (raid a charity shop or ask people to bring stuff) and then a disposable camera on a nearby table? That way people could get their friends to take photos or take them themselves as well as keeping the space used down."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

That's my thoughts, I think I will ask my brother to go first as he won't mind and I think others will then see and follow. If I thought he would poke fun of people I would be more hesitant as I know that's not nice.
Still thinking about the props part, might have a few little ideas. Will speak to reception co ordinator next month.
If anyone wants to have a look at his work so you can see what I mean it is Ric Machin

I think I am going to do it....call it my present to myself because I can't have fresh flowers :rotfl:
Ric has been incredibly helpful and accommodating and I know we have enough room for him to work without having to lose something else. We pay for the basic coverage and if he needs to stay then we can just pay on the night which makes life easier.

Depends on how much alcohol taken beforehand!!
Can be great fun if someone is merry, but not so much if it's your granny and teetotal I'd say, or the shy and retiring types like myself.
Where is the smiley I need for this?0 -

I would hate it, its more of a holiday thing than a wedding?0

I think it's a great idea....we are planning on having one ourselves! Good talking point and people can watch others having theirs done:o:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0

I think it's quite a good idea actually. Certainly different. Although personally I think I'd pass.
My ego couldn't handle having all of my insecurites exaggerated for everyone at the wedding to see and laugh at and begin noticing them more in the future! lol
Lots of people would surely have theirs done, though.0 -
I wouldn't be fussed either way. I'd play along if I was offered a drawing, but I'm not sure what I'd do with the picture after, as it mught get crushed in my bag, or left somewhere.
Also, I normally tend to find one-on-one entertainment like that quite intrusive - often weddings are a nice chance to catch up with people, so magicians, charcature artists etc tend to interupt conversations.0 -
I had one done at my friend's wedding last year. It went down well - there were lots of people who didn't want one, but plenty who did and the artist was kept busy for the 2hrs he was booked for. At least one couple has their drawing hung on the wall at home, and several friends have used them as Facebook profile pics. As long as there's no pressure on those who aren't interested, I think you'd get a good response.0
