You can't open a mini cash ISA and a MAXI stocks ISA in the same tax year. You can open a MINI Stocks ISA.
  • Its not really very clear is it? Oh well
  • oh right now that is clear thanks!

where can i find a list of mini stocks and shares ISAs

There are about 150 providers of mini stocks and shares ISAs and about 20,000 areas you can invest in.

What do you want to invest in?

I have a cash isa filled with 3k for this tax year

If I can have a mini SHARES isa ( is that 3k as well) Id like to do that before the tax year is out ( *gets skates on*) Id like to invest in alternative energy providers. Is this something that spossible do you know?

I have zero time at the mo and this money in burning a hole in my current account, plus paying naff all in interest

  • I wanted to look into investing in a 'very speculative' risk group like Jupitor Emerging European Opportunities. I saw that some of them reinvested any profits which were made but i'm not so sure i want that.

I've only just started looking after talking to my cousin who had a CIS unit Trust which he said he's had some dividends from.

Here are a few links I looked at:

Lynzpower, in my limited understanding you can have the following in any tax year:

    - 3k in a cash ISA and 4k in a mini stocks ISA
    - OR - 7k total in a maxi ISA

I have a cash ISA with First Direct and now opened a mini stocks ISA with Hargreaves Lansdown. This was opened so we can pay £50 a month via DD and test the Unit Trust waters... sent off cheque yesterday for Jupiter China (accumulation) - fingers crossed!

PS: Can anyone recommend a cash ISA that will accept transfers-in AND pays interest monthly? First Direct are offering a paltry 5.5%...
    Many thanks
