    Thanks for the advice everyone. The cheque I forgot to say is for £100. I'm going to give it a go at the bank tomorrow, will hand it over without pointing it out and if they notice, produce ID for both myself and husband, maybe even marriage certificate, to see if that helps convince them! Otherwise may try crossing out the 's' in Mrs and pay into husband's account. Will update when I have tried this! Thanks again
  • If your husband also banks with the same bank then I don't see any problems.
    If not, unless a staff member knows you it might be rejected.

    That all sounds sensible up until the point where you consider fraudulently altering a cheque that your bank has already rejected... I would recommend not doing that!
