Yep had that GQ also sometimes as if I am floating just above the ground and the funny migraines from numbness to the wonderful light shows and yep putting thumbs in eyes do help. Nice also to know no only one who has migraine outside the body. Other week I did phone NHS Direct at night as whole left side of body went numb and not quite right they said A&E I said nope so they said GP in morning but migraine hit ( not had them for about 2 years first break in 36 years and yep now every other day again ). I wonder if Low Blood Pressure is something common among ME/Fibro as I went through a phase of it years ago now and felt fine but doctor wasn't happy and I ended up overnight in hospita - discharged me when they saw I was fine with it but had to record my BP every hour for 3 months, and record what I was doing just before I did it, never got feedback on it. My file is ahem rather large but then I am older than you and as my GP loves sending me for tests in case it is something else I have that she can cure it gets bigger by the year.
Monogram the reason you feel your dying is nothing to feel bad about as you are not used to being ill so it will make you feel bad. Its all about getting used to things, so ill health becomes basically the norm but if we get something different that can make us feel as if we are dying yet its something minor. So don't go wasting time waiting for bad health to hit it hopefully never will, my best friend is 70 and can run rings round me and is rudely healthy.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

GQ and Mardatha and PAH - I'm another one with ME and although I don't think I've had the "solid floor feeling bouncy"-type thing, at times when my brain is being particularly recalcitrant I have had my eyes and brain telling me that a line in a pattern on the floor (e.g.in a shop), which I was about to tread on, is actually a step, so I suddenly stop dead as I think i'm going to fall, if that makes sense? Such fun, ME, isn't it0

(((((((((((((((ginny)))))))))))))))))))) that's the pits and I feel for you and anyone who has bad neighbours. Far too much of it about, unfortunately. Hope the arthritus soon eases a bit.
I'm wandering around with my head slightly detached, or at least that's what it feels like. I'm a bit feverish and spacey and have been all day, which hasn't been ideal at work. Don't know what's going on but it doesn't hurt and I expect that by tomorrow it will have either turned into something recognisable or have passed.
Any other ME-ers ever had that thing where you're walking along on a hard surface like concrete or tarmac and your poor befuddled nervous system is feeding back to you that you're walking on something spongy like a deep soft carpet? Such a weird thing having your eyes and brain tell you one thing and your feet another.
Ach, have had over 20 years to get used to feeling slightly peculiar at all times, so just have to get on with it.
I get this at times, and I don't have ME. But I do have very low blood pressure - it usually settles at 90/50 or thereabouts. So getting up quickly is an issue and I usually have to clutch hold of something till my vision and head clear, but also I feel a bit "otherworldly" at times. I do suffer from anxiety and panic at times and wonder if that isn't helped by Low BP.
I am trying to encourage my MIL t think about stocking up a bit. She isn't convinced so far....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ive been reading this thread with great interest .....
I have started buliding up my food supplies before the prices increases & have cleared some shelfs in the garage but some mice got in and made holes in the dog's dry mix :rotfl:. They must of liked it but my husband wants to get rid of them , but i dont want them killed. Any ideas pls ?
Oh, and about the dizziness some of you are suffering with.
I have the blood pressure drops and anxious feelings and have just been told I have autonomic dysfunction and my heart goes too fast when im standing , its called "POTS". Look it up and see if it fits , most doctors dont know about it, as it was only recognised 12 years ago as a condition, HTH.
Kindness costs nothing0 -
Interesting, Mirry. I was struck by the fact that irritable bowel syndrome is frequently associated with it, also tinnitus and chronic fatigue.
Re the mice, you could try borrowing a cat for a day or two. Chances are it won't catch anything but I have found that the mere smell of a cat can persuade meeces to move onIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
This was one of the replies to an article in the Daily Fail this morning. Has anyone heard of it? I certainly haven't.
Globally food prices are increasing, but the uk feels it more because it has been printing money. Working people in Portugal are going hungry (food is about the same price, but 16% of people are on the minimum wage, of 485 euros a month (rent for a room is around 250 euros a month)). Indeed, many of us survive on European social fund food supply. The UK has access to this (probably most of your readers have never seen it, but it is cheap food (e.g. cheese, milk, onions, potatoes) that has the EU flag on and 'not for sale or redistribution' written on it, because it is handed out. If people are hungry, I suggest swallowing your pride and getting this - alot of southern europe is dependent on it.

Loads of scary posts/thoughts/stories...
Anyone in London and dreading the new year public transport price rises?
Sigh....
Paying £84.50 per month now and only as I avoid going via zone 1 (use overground trains not the tube) and that is a lot...
Got several hospital appointments to "look forward to" which means have to "top up" my oyster to go into zone 1 for the appointments, absolute fortune0 -
The other DS is too wrapped up in his coming baby to deal with the outside world, so my gift to the new grandchild will probably be a stack of essential food. More useful than booties.
Everyone keeps buying things that are really unnecessary for our baby and we are SO grateful for all the help we have received off our family but we were talking last night and saying that if anyone asks us what we need we would actually ask them for Tesco/Asda gift card so that we had a bit of money to go stock up on food/nappies/formula rather than having yet more clothes that he will probably only wear once. So I think this is a really good idea! I hope your Son appreciated your thoughtfullness.Ive been reading this thread with great interest .....

I have pet mice so i am really glad you dont want to kill them!
But also we had a mouse infestation a few months back in our loft and cupboard outside (they were making friends with the Guinea Pig) and the only thing we could really do was to encourage them into a humane trap using peanut butter and then we took them up to the local conservation? site and asked if we could set them free up there and they were fine with it. They are pests though so you do have to ask.
Also tbh I was happy to learn ours were mice because they say where there are mice there aren't rats! LOLRe the mice, you could try borrowing a cat for a day or two. Chances are it won't catch anything but I have found that the mere smell of a cat can persuade meeces to move on
I so wish this were true!! :rotfl:Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Sorry board hogger alert :rotfl:
It really scared me today reading about the increase in food prices.
I knew it was coming but was kind of hoping we had a little more time.
We live really hand to mouth because we literally cannot afford to stock up the stores, every time I try something happens and we end up living off them for a monthand then we go back to having nothing in the house again.
I have enough food in for about 2 weeks if we really scrape by and that would be using up everything.
The only thing I have a really lot of is Orange Squash & Tea bags, my husband said to me last night that we didn't need to buy 2 more Squash's because we had plenty but I rarely drink anything else and he lives on tea so they are the 2 things we currently have a lot of.
I just can't seem to afford to ever stock up on food and as soon as I do we need to use it.
I am so worried now.
We have just sold some stuff on eBay and have totally finished buying everything we need for our baby and so I am going to try very hard to get a few things in over the next few months before the real increases hit next year (which is what they expect).
My husband thinks it's a waste of money and that the money could be put to better uses though so I might have to be a bit sneaky and hide some ... is that terrible?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the things they most recommend stocking up or what to start with or should I just do a shop of some tins and packets?Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
That is exactly like me then - can not afford to stock up on anything for myself.
Got enough dog food for 3 months, cat litter for 2 months, cat dry food for.. about 6 months and that is about it.
For me? Done £70 shopping when I got paid on the 28th and pretty much have to live on it till 28th again.
Very, VERY depressing to work full time and to have to live like that0
