ChrisEvanson wrote: »Ho hum.... As someone who most of the time doesn't have the time to keep up on this thread I will appear as an outsider/lurker whatever. I agree with your basic thinking (not ripping the p out of glitches) and I find it quite unusual to have a thread on MSE which doesn't result in slagging each other off.
I work long shifts, finished yesterday and back tomorrow, and have really struggled to do other things and keep up to track with this. I don't know how you guys do it unless you spend most of the day at your PC's?! I haven't got the time to wade through 50 pages after a 10 hour shift because by the end I would have another 20 to read etc.... So what I am saying is it isn't through lack of interest/unfriendliness/lurking I don't post, it is just lack of time.
Today I feel I have achieved very little as about two hours I have simply spent catching up and some of last nights pages I just had to skip.
So, having said that.... I don't want to judge anyone here at all, but please guys don't slate the 'newbies'. It just makes you look cliquey and unwelcoming. As I said, rare that I had time to come in here in the last 24 hours and I have posted two shops. I got £23-24 APG (two of them) on £35-40 shops. I don't see that is much different to £10 APG on a £15 shop.
Some of you say about keeping below the radar etc whilst buying one carrot and one potato and buying 8 items. To me that is more over the radar than a big shop with a big APG.
I take on board big APG's get noticed, but so do people buying one mushroom!
There is a lot of judging going on here, I really honestly don't want to slate any of you individually as I don't know many of you guys, but its not nice to judge and slate someone like this, especially when they apologised.
The system allows taking the P, and getting free goods, and most of you I bet have stashes of wine, ketchup, beans, what have you? If you really think going back and forth doing £10 shops with your one carrot and one mushroom, generating £10 vouchers is below the radar then think on.
I used to get very annoyed about those people, in Tesco refund and replace days, buying several TV's etc and reselling them, but this will always go on. APG will get capped, whatever secret groups there are and however you try and take advantage of it. The poster above and myself have agreed we need to scale it back a bit but you still won't find me buying one carrot.....
Live and let live guys. Whilst I am here, before I am back to work and you leave standing with pages and pages of chat and glitches, I would just like to say thank you all for the help and advice I have had from you in the last day or so, and I hope to dip in occasionally to say hello. Good health and happy hunting to you all.
We all judge in every walk of life, whether through choice or not. But this is not the case of judging someone, more the case of common sense. If you think of it as shoplifting for example (I know it's not shoplifting) you wouldn't walk into a store lift a load of items and walk straight out. You would try to be disgreet and hide them in a bag ect. And that's all folk are saying.
Don't draw attention to yourself.
Use common sense.

Im a newbie to this thread but not a newbie to MSE & I firmly believe in slowly, slowly when doing anything like this. Much better to keep it small & not be looking over your shoulder all the time.
Managed to get a tin of beans today, let's hope they taste as good as they look :-)
Ive got 1 tin of beans with each shop.;)0 -

I entirely agree - just saying that they may suspect otherwise and appear to have covered themselves against accepting the APG in that scenario.0 -

My highest apg was £41.77 and i had a few now. Not once have i been trouted or abused at. The sa asked me how i got it and in a polite way i said asda match tescos price etc. if i was to get a £80 apg i would use it. I do now keep then under £15 as i think thats a good idea as others have said.
I bought 4 bottles today in a store and they had over 200 bottles and went back and 2 left. Its being used a lot now but i thank all people that help.
But if someone wants to get 5 or 500 as long as its not being wasted good you. Im going to donate 500 tins of beans to my local foodbank. I suggest others do and a few bottles of the red stuff to
