  • morning guys and gals, i am with baby since last night, a friends wee baby that i look after, well she is a wee single mum who is the same age as my daughter, i'm a wee softy so look after everyone as usual. I have got baby stuff at my house so stuff doesn't have to be transported too much. She has been up at 07:30 had bottle and solids bath playtime giggle time snuggles and kisses and is now very happy and cosy sleeping in the moses basket. i will put a piccy of her on skipping thread for all those who love babies.
When I was putting her to bed last night with my daughter, we were sitting looking at her for ages, I said to my daughter "i love her"
my daughter said "i love her too" Can't believe how much it has changed our lifes having this wee baby around. The only thing is I absolutely pine when she goes away with her mum. I know that is so selfish, I think I have got too close really.
She is looked after so well here and is happy thats all i can say without saying too much.
My DS has started college today, he left on train early this morning. made him a packed lunch to take, standing there making it with tears in my eyes thinking back to all the wee packed lunches i have made him through the years. he moves out on september the 8th his 20th birthday. don't get me started on that emotional rollercoaster.
my wee daughter is 18 one week today, the bairn, she starts job number 2 next week, so she will have 2 jobs that are part time. She actually got offered another job last week and had to turn it down it was full time. however she has got her head around the two she is doing one is in a shop the other in a old peoples home. I think its good for her to try those two to see what she likes best. There were no jobs advertised localy but she wrote to every single employer in our whole area and has ended up with 3 job offers.
anyway not too much shopping been done here lately, i'm too busy doing the mother role lol!
sorry for just chatting, i know not many people will be too bothered if its not a glitch i'm posting, but its nice to have a wee blether when there is not much else happening xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
hugs to all that need them, off to put the kettle on ........have a great day xxxxxx

Hi bloodynurse, I can so relate to this. I too used to watch a little girl from the age of 3 months old. Well to be honest it was my DDthat got asked to babysit the baby at ours. My DD was around 14 at the time so obviously I took a very active roll along side her. We went from have the little girl once a week, to the whole weekend. Then practically full time. The mother did use to pay my DD to begin with. But this soon stopped when she realised we treated the little girl like one of the family. She was 2 years old but still wore 6 month old baby clothes. The little girl came last in her priorities. I bought loads of new clothes for her but kept them at mine. Her mum even asked my to lend the little girl a pair of shoes as she was going to a party. Anyway, we looked after her till she was around 7 years old and we loved her soo much. But we found out that before the baby was born her mum had spent 5 years inside for going to someones home and threatening them with a gun. My OH and I spoke long n hard, but decided we could no longer look after the little girl. I had it in my mind that when she reached 13/14 she may ask to move in with us. So couldn't risk the consequences if she did as I had my own family to think off.
We made excuses up as to why we could no longer have her, but it tore me apart inside. Still to this day, I'm not sure if we made the right decision. She's 11 now bless her.
My heart goes out to you.

Hope all is ok with your Yorkie girl xx

My old cat Percy went to the vets this morning and has had to have anti biotics for his war wounds from yesterday. He's very down and has a temperature :(
I hate seeing him like this as he looks so pathetic. He has the worlds most pathetic miaow too along with his bald head, neck and tail! Oh and back legs! :o

Aww bless him, hope he's feeling better soon :)

HI there hope all is well
I used to breed dogs and first litters are a bit hit and miss.
It sounds like the first puppy may be stuck in the birth canal and has sadly died, it may obstruct the others and in time they too may not live.
If your dog has not delivered by tomorrow take her to the vets as they can inject her to start contractions.
This will be ok if the first one is mobile but be prepared for a c section as this is common in these cases.
I don't mean to be alarmist but the general rule of thumb for me is that once 63 days has passed then a trip to the vets is needed as a week in their pregancy is a month in human so days are more like weeks.
    hth

Thanks Wendy. Vet has suggested having her done, as he said if she mates again same thing could happen. I'm not sure what to do for best as I would have loved her to be a wee mummy. But it's down to what's best for her really.
  • Afternoon - can I join in pretty please? Been lurking for a while and love reading all the chat. Hope I will be able to help finding glitches as you have helped me. GET YOUR COATS ON - I CAN CONFIRM ROSE WINE IS A GOER.

    Welcome :)

Anyone have a cure for a broken heart ?
Just had dd on phone, had to book 1st flight home (£400) not very MSE but sometimes money does not really matter. She has been working abroad all summer and has just broken up with with her bf and is in bits. She really thought he was the one. She had a flight booked in 2 weeks time anyway but needs to get home asap as she is feeling so down(im worried about her). Luckily she has many good friends who are taking care of her thank god. Anyway I pick her up from local airport on Wed and it cant come soon enough. In middle of decorating ds2 room whilst he is away with my Mum and Dad also. Its all go here. Hope everyone else is well x

It's really hard being a mum at a time like that as you feel every inch of their pain, yet can't make it better for them. My DS1 went through same about 9 months ago and he couldn't eat or sleep. Lost loads of weight. I felt like I was on his back constantly trying to get him to eat ect. Glad to say he's back to his old self and much stronger for going through it. I really hope she's not hurting to much or you for that matter. Thinking of you both and pray she works things out.

Just had another fall to add to the list :(

My balance is rubbish at the best of times and I stupidly decided to stand on the bottom ledge on the outside of the patio doors to reach the top to clean them.
Slipped and have now twisted my ankle when I fell over :(

I broke my foot once doing this on some inside windows (slipped off the window sill)...you'd have thought I'd have learned....what a wally I am :mad:

On another note. I really like the beans :):)

Oh dear, hope you've had ice on it and it is ok in the morning hun :(
