You've been very quiet recently, it's usually you at the top!
Just back from T's, got a £38 shop down to £18, with pp, the gift card that I won last week and some coupons. But as I was leaving the store and checking my receipt I happened to notice that I had been over charged on some childrens activity booksso the nice CS man gave me £8 back and explained why :cool: So shopping down to £10 now and I should get a pp back of £8 odd. Not too bad even if I do say so myself as it was all stuff I was needing. Oh and 277 CC points as well, had a till spit for Gillette blades and OH just happened to be needing some

Try this quiz - no cheating
It should be quite easy for 11+ers, but I found it difficult because we never pay "regular" prices for stuff, or don't buy the branded items, so I actually don't know how much a lot of things actually cost

What a nightmare. Hope you have managed to use alot of it or give to others to use. We have a large American freezer in garage and my OH unplugged it to use the socket and stupidly forgot to plug it back in. What a mess :mad: my freezers are normally full jam packed. This was recently after all the DTD last year. Even with a large grown up family there's still a limit to what they can eat in a day or so. Pizza night for all there mates with wedges and garlic bread. All the ice cream had to be binned, including all the magnums :mad: Gave loads to family and friends. I hate having to throw food out too, but what can you do?!0 -
Not as bad as the time I took a car for a test drive and crashed it....:o

$64 question, did you buy the car?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It was on a Sunday many years ago, my BF of the time and I decided to go for a Sunday drive and maybe have a little look at cars for me. We ended up at one car dealership, just wandering round as you do, and of course were soon talking to a salesman. I was pressured by both him and the BF to go for a test drive, I hadn't really intended to, but they were both insistent. I should have said no.
It was an old style boxy Fiat Panda (this fact is significant). I started driving, and approaching a T junction I couldn't find the brake pedal, hit the accelerator and ploughed into two cars before coming to a top halfway across the junction (thankfully nothing was coming). This was in part of Bradford near the city centre. There was a group of young boys playing near by and one, slightly more enterprising than the others, decided this was the perfect opportunity to run to a nearby phone box and dial 999!
Subsequent examination of the car revealed the brake pedal was significantly higher than the other pedals, which was why I hadn't been able to find it. The salesman was very nice about it and said it happened all the time with people driving unfamiliar vehicles. A policemen came to the garage to investigate but was quickly satisfied and went off, but as you can imagine I was mortified. The salesman's parting shot as we left was, "Well, if you buy it, at least you'll know the front's like new!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And no, I didn't buy it!
The car wasn't too badly damaged and their insurance covered it, but I have never test driven a car since out of superstition.
OK that's my embarasssing confession, who's next ? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hope is not a strategy.0 -
